Slackline tricks: Parallels with footbag freestyle

First time seeing these kinds of slackline tricks. Some pretty sweet moves. It's cool how this guy is stringing moves together, at a pace that's similar to footbag ie faster than vert skateboard/snowboard/etc. I'm guessing slackline trick...

Never used them before, but that sounds like a good idea. I only have 1 good long sleeve shirt for shredding when it's cold. Getting cycling sleeves seems better than buying more long sleeve shirts I wouldn't use often and would take up space.

I too was really pissed off about the politics at worlds this year. For those who weren't at worlds, what happened was bribery of the judges. It was blatant disregard for sportsmanship and makes me sick to my stomach. I remember when there was honor in footbag. It's sad that our sport has gone down ...

Last fall I took a really fun and insightful sports psychology class, focusing on motivation and performance. In psychology, what you guys are talking about is called goal orientation theory. Goal orientation theory describes ego (comparing with others) vs mastery/task (measuring personal progress) ...

If anyone is still around and is looking for something to do in SF, this evening Rory, Kat (and I think Manna) and I will be slacklining in Dolores Park at around 5-5:30. Later, there is a special movie in the park too, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, being projected onto a big inflatable screen. http://w...

I'll have my slackline with me during worlds. I'll set it up if there are any good places at the event site. If there's anyone here in SF already, tonight I'll be setting up for an hour or so down at Dolores Park, in the Mission District, @ 6pm till the sun sets.[/s] Many slackliners there; recently...

I had been thinking about this question since you started this thread, and was going to say the same thing: escape. I have issues with escapism for sure. I find it a lot easier to be happy within sport microcosms. I think it's because those are generally the only times I'm fully engaged and my brain...

I remember trying surfing a few times and thinking it was much harder than footbag and other things I've tried. All that work paddling sure cuts down how frequently you can try again. For footbag, all you gotta do is pick the bag up off the ground and you're ready for your next shot.
