Re: Kankeri Japan

Aotearoa New Zealand is now in COVID alert level 1 for all places except for Auckland. Among other things, this means that the longroom is open again! I enjoyed kicking by the table tennis tables while skilled students played each other. It was a nice vibe and there were heaps of people around. That...

Re: Kankeri Japan

Had another session yesterday. - left foot set atw i-o x12, then x10 - mirage > ss mirage x4 or so during warmup runs - spinning osis > gyro osis x3 - toe set op pickup x 55 - toe set gyro toe x4, x4, x4. Couldn't seem to get more than that. This was inspired by Ken's latest vid https://www.youtube....

Re: Fanzine

On a related note, I have a new short term project to motivate me. Japanese Footbag Champs are this month, and while I cannot compete (not a resident of Japan anymore) I do want to show my support by shooting entries for most of the events. I don't think I'll do Shred30 since I'm still avoiding shu...

Re: Kankeri Japan

Sometimes I like to sneak in a quick shred on days when I normally don't kick. On those days, especially when time is limited, I like to 'shut up and shred'. ...and what a cheeky sesh it was. I ended up kicking for about 40 minutes instead of 25. This was mostly owing to the 'just one more trick' i...

Re: Kankeri Japan

I have had two sessions since the last post. Footbag is so good. I would be in a very different place had I never found footbag. Here are some notes. Session 1 (31 August, 2020) I thought of a sweet combo that I would like to hit one day: PS whirl > blurry drifter > rpt This would look so cool, and ...

Re: Kankeri Japan

Thanks for the kind words! Glad my notes are useful. I kicked Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Each time I felt the desire to keep pushing, which is great. Monday the 24th of August: I wanted to hit blender x10 but was nowhere near. I also made a note to hit some fearless stuff. I noted the following...

Re: 2019-2020 NBA Season

I'll have you two (Ken and Asmus) know that today I was chatting with a friend who was telling me how the NBA is doing virtual fans, and was able to tell them this story about you two! Great stuff.

Re: Kankeri Japan

Had a kick as I mentioned I would, last Thursday. I really notice the difference in motivation kicking two days in a row. When I was younger I feel like I could kick most days at like 90%, whereas now I'm more like 90% the first day, they 60%, then it drops more. I noted the following: - little toe ...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

That is so cool you are getting these opportunities with footbag! I would love to see this come to fruition.

I also like the idea of 5s. I think I will make a note to hit some today.

@TJ: I do remember it, altho I'm not sure if my mind is making up the location... was it in front of the toy store? I have such good memories from Portland, it was especially important for me as it's been my first North American Worlds! ha yeah it could have very well been there instead; my mind is...

Re: Worst Shorthand Names

Who the fuck came up with calling ss Atomic sets “tapping”, when a trick, tap, already exists? Has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. If I hit Tapping Legover, that’s Atomic ss DLO, not Atomic ss Leg. Understand this may apply to Blazing, and Slapping, but I don’t know much about thos...

Typically they don't open up events for non-Japanese/non-resident players, unless the event is unofficial (e.g., circle contest).

Re: Kankeri Japan

Some of these are quite impressive - fairy ss mirage x 9, PLO x 17 are pretty good. Thanks. I feel that I should be able to do them ad infinitum, but still struggle with each one due to unbalanced sides. What's the vibe like there in NZ - must be kind of weird that other places are having 5000 case...

Re: Kankeri Japan

Had a kick on Monday 17 Aug. As mentioned in an earlier post, NZ being in level 2 alert for COVID has meant that the longroom has been closed. This means I have had to use another location to kick. This location has been next to two table tennis tables. Monday was busy with both tables being used. A...

Tesla has announced a 5-to-1 stock split. I bet all of these 5s had something to do with it.
