Re: Fanzine

Happy Birthday, Ken! I was thinking about you earlier yesterday. I was thinking about double-dex sick threes that I might be able to hit one-sided and how you could probably repeat them in a handful of tries. Then I started thinking about all the challenges I used to give you when I was playing. So,...

Re: Steel City Freestyle

Thanks Asmus! Well, I guess it's Thursday, so that's about 5 days since I last played footbag. I was in Washington Square Park with one of my oldest footbag friends, Dollercoaster. It was a brief session, my back hurt, and my stamina made a two-person circle difficult, but the few times I pushed mys...

Re: Steel City Freestyle

A variety of pushups/crunches/situps, two days in a row. 100+ consecutive Toe-delays to hand-catch, first try. Footed a new move both sides-one string (bsos) (ducking leg over). Three-for-three swirls on injured side, in a row. PM-same-side-inf.x6 on injured side (was hard). 29 contacts on other sid...

Re: Steel City Freestyle

Post some pictures of the solo show work. I am curious. And welcome back! Thanks for the welcome back, Asmus :) I've since had two sessions with NYFA, the first of which I felt really good, but had to hold back because I didn't want to overexert myself during an installation. The second session was...

Re: Steel City Freestyle

Asmus- I'll get some pix up asap. Thank you for your interest :) In footbag related news, kicked with NYFA today and hit one good combo: •gyro clipper, inf. swirl, twirl, hand It was nice. The other day I got to play with DC and NYFA. That was my first decent session since my back started hurting. H...

Re: Steel City Freestyle

Hi Ken. Yeah, this back thing sucks. I will get past it though. In Pittsburgh, I'm bartending again, for the first time in about 10 years. At the end of January I will be installing for a solo show that will be up for almost three months. I am very excited about that!

Re: Steel City Freestyle

Hi Modified :) I played foot bag last week. It felt really good to play, but in all honesty it was brutal. It's certainly a new era for me. My body is older and my lower back is finally dictating that I play responsibility. This, however, is a very good thing. I am redoing everything now, with a cle...

Re: Joulukalenteri 2013 - Day 7. Kemmer / Polini

That was really great to watch! Matt, I'm so glad that you are still playing and so well at that. I'm also happy to see you rocking those old school shirts from NYFA and SCF! Nick- you're getting so consistent and big with your tricks- it's really exciting :) East Coast!!! Really hope to catch up wi...

Re: NYFA New Year Spam?

Man- I am going to be really busy trying to set up my installation, but I will be starting before xmas this time, so hopefully I will be able to get away and shred with you guys at some point. I will definitely do my best to make this happen. With regard to NYE, I will keep my ears to the grindstone...

Re: Nick Polini: Challenge Me (MUST INCLUDE [UNS]!)

Just left you some props on your recent vid. Was typing out the following when I thought I should send it here. Do you have an approach at shuffle? I haven't played with you in a while and I can't tell where your game is at. You seem to progressively wrap your mind around each and every concept. As ...

Liked the big links, both sides and the triple-dex move. Would like to see a video where you hit some of these BS links BSOS. All that symposium business is pretty great too.

I've had so many great things happen directly to me this summer, and yet one of my highlights was getting to root for you in circles comp over the internets. Even my girlfriend had to hear about it. Pipebomb was blowing it up. Hope all is well in your new digs. Finally getting back into playing (3 d...

Re: Worlds 2013 Updates

Seeing two pairs of lavers talking to each other like that really makes me emotional. So does having access to these videos in near-realtime. Thank's Ivan- you really raised the bar with this act of coolness. I'm not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but I can't seem to get access to Jindra'...

Re: Steel City Freestyle

Played with NYFA on Saturday (Ben "as in not Ben Cooke", Bruce and Boats"). It was a good session. Some highlights: • Rev. Whirl- Swirl- repeat (8 contacts- 4 on other side) • One lengthy string with very good form • Diving Dyno to hand (twice) • Footed Dim Walk bsos (unexpected) • Some hippy atomic...

Re: Steel City Freestyle

Played with NYFA today, outside of a New Order concert in Williamsburg. Jindra Smola and his girlfriend were there too. Many highlights. •Watching people dancing in the street to "Transmission". That was awesome. One of my favorite tunes. •Hit a couple of moves for Drew Martin- got them within 3 tri...

Thanks for dropping my name there, Boats! It was fucking rad kicking with you all the other day. You and Drew are really coming along, doing all kinds of stylish stuff. The gyro toe stuff was some of my favorite, but your unique shuffle really impressed me- I really hope you take it farther and fart...
