Re: Starting over

A few more strings from a recent session. Working on some atomic sets, some more guay/reverse guay, spinning. Hit motion both sides but they were fairly ugly.

Zoom, zoom.. drop

Thanks for the suggestion! Did some of the inside stall -> wrap -> osis, definitely a good drill for getting more comfortable in that position. Worked on some links with a zooming component. Love this component, but find it really difficult. Started getting there, but kept dropping on BSOS. Both sid...

Re: Starting over

I've been frustrated with how poor my osis are. I don't have the best crank in the world, but my form is definitely the bigger problem. Have worked on a few drills and moves with osis. near osis > far osis > rpt  clipper > ss osis > rpt for 25 contacts  blender BS, dyno BS, ste...

Re: Starting over

For some reason when I'm trying to work on sets I feel like I should have some downtime component that isn't just a stall, but I think thats actually been making it a lot harder for me when trying to get comfortable with sets. So going to be working on just pixie/fairy to ss toe or op toe drills. Di...

Re: Stephen Barnes' One-Shot Challenge (post your video)

Haha yea, I was too tired when I tried that one. Did another today. I sorta had a plan, and then when I went to do it I heard my land lord walking down the stairs and leaving the building. He sorta doesn't like it when I jump around too much, so when I saw him leave I then just decided to try some s...

Re: Fanzine

Had to check today in lab since I just guessed when I was filling it  (sorry to hijack your footblog with bag max weight discussion ken!). Digging all the videos you're posting, really like the barrages you hit from op toe set. Atomic DLO > double switchover is rad. https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Ivan Driveway

Interesting...for a long time I've favored bags that are notably heavier (and slightly bigger) than what I see others use at tournaments.  I wonder if there's an upper physical bound of bag weight, after which it puts too much strain on a bag's stitches.  I bet there is and I bet I've been flirting...

Thats an awesome move, props! Would like to try out grifters and fluxes at some point in the near future, those moves just look so cool!

Re: Starting over

Thanks! Had a little session a couple days ago, just worked on some drills with moves ending in inside stall, guays and reverse guays and such. Got about 3.5 of the contacts of the pixie muted op clipper > gyro mirage drill, just missed the stall on the last mirage, arg. Thanks for the recommendatio...

Re: Fanzine

Yesterday's shred meant I closed out January with 4 shreds total. Considering I pretty much didn't play from October through December, that's pretty good. Yea! Been stoked to see all the new videos from you, glad your recovery is coming along well, if slower than you'd originally hoped. Loved that ...

Re: Starting over

Got some time to play today, got pretty close to a lot of things, but it was mostly a session of close but not quite, spent a lot of time off balance and falling over. Had near eggbeater and near DLO BSOS and had the second pdx eggbeater off my foot in the same string. Got really close to atom smash...

Re: Starting over

Had a couple more sessions, worked on a few tough concepts for me. Hit on both sides swirls, reverse swirls, drifters, weaving clipper, zulu clipper. Swirls are still so awkward for me, I really need to work on my body shape I think, I'm super off balance after finishing one. And I have stupid littl...

Re: Starting over

Nice highlights. DDDs are hard, so well done. Thanks! Yea, those are definitely the weirdest for me. Also, come to think of it, I was practicing guays the other day at the beginning of my sesh, likely from watching your vids. Nice! Yea, I like the movement a lot and I think they look cool. The illu...

Re: Kankeri Japan

Until then, here is a shortish run with some zoom practice. I hope it is educational and enjoyable: Educational indeed! I've been trying to work on zooming stuff since this post, your osis form is so impressive and controlled. Really clear separation between the gyro and the stall, my osis are stil...

Re: Starting over

TPP Edit: Found some work by Joshua Flint on an art blog I sometimes scroll through. Really liked his work. https://www.thisiscolossal.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/flint-9.jpg https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2020/01/joshua-flint-surreal-paintings/ https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2017/07/new-oil-pain...
