I cut off the eyelets on my first pair, and a word of advice - if you're going to do it be very careful of the part that attaches the toe surface to the walls of the shoe. It's not that strong, and if you accidentally cut it or have it rip, the surface is nowhere near as good.

Well, there's definetly something to be said for improvement: seeing myself on video and realizing that I'm crap at footbag still is a huge motivator.
