Re: Joulukalenteri 2020

Thanks for running this once again - once is hard enough but to do it twice in a row takes a special kind of insanity. For me my strong barfly is pretty good but I am very weak on the weakside. My butterflies are pretty good in all directions but I think maybe I am waiting too long to go into it. Wi...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

Been a bit quiet in here of late - even for Modified standards. I have been kicking a little lately. I'm going to put in a video for the Joulu so I need to get that together. I've ordered myself a pair of Quantums - intrigued to see how the whole process goes with the fundraising and all. I wrote a ...

Quantum Shoes Fundraising Campaign

I've been meaning to post something about this for a little while. There has been talk about the revival of the Quantum shoes for a while and there seems to be some good progress happening now. They are running a fundraising campaign which includes preorders for the new shoes. https://www.youtube.co...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

I've had a bunch of photos pop up on the Facebook memories from one year ago, when we did our trip to New Zealand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtyfnpcPNdo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfyC2wI5eFk I made a couple of videos from that trip, one for last year's Joulukalenteri, and then a vlog wit...

Re: Fanzine

Awesome post Ken. Lots of people have been posting some really cool anecdotes about him, mainly on Facebook, which you wouldn't see, but a lot of it is about that kind of thing - how being around him, he was really enthusiastic and would bring you in, and that his energy would rub off on to you.

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

That was my thought too, that he had invented ripwalk etc, and then things like ripped warrior were an upgrade on that, but probably done by others.

RIP Rippin Rick Reese

There has been a real outpouring on Facebook for Mr Rippin Rick Reese. This is a guy I've actually never met but he invented so many footbag tricks and was such a big deal in the footbag community. People have always been talking about his enthusiasm. Sad loss. Personally, on Tuesday I had a session...

Re: Japanese Footbag Champs 2020

Do you guys think an Asia- Pacific online tournament would have legs? I was impressed with the Chinese performance in the worlds online stuff, Japan has had a consistently good scene in along time - I think we could also use "family" rules to allow others - someone like Ken could compete in the even...

Re: Fanzine

Dustin posts quite regularly on Instagram. He's got a really sort of unique style, blending kind of "hack" skills (flying stuff and other similar kind of weird moves), I like a lot of the stuff he does.

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

Couple of videos, it's been a pretty long day, not up to writing too much. Here's my entry for the Spooky Shred Off. I'm not super pleased about how I went with this, but I am pleased I got a video together at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TFLOw_3Lsc Here's a vlog I did up from a trip we did...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

Sounds like a heart attack or similar. I remember reading he couldn't play so much because he was having some kind of health issues, might be related. Sad news.

Had a kick today and had some more runs like that - the contacts just came together and I was able to get some decent runs easily.

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u1SW0s9Hig I'm on a bit of a Youtube rabbit warren and it's only early in the evening. From watching this I was actually trying to find something that I had filmed myself (Foo Fighters + Joan Jett). Anyway, another day. I have submitted my thing for the "Spooky Shre...

Re: Fanzine

Terrible news, hope you can recover well from it. Like you said, great it didn't happen during the Worlds time - and also, it's one you couldn't have avoided. It's not like you were playing on a gravel surface, or trying after 22 beers, or tripped over your kid (many ways that these things could hap...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

Been a little while, and maybe a little more of a while than I thought, about a month since my last post. Speaking of getting back to things, here's something from the Instagram world - https://sportslashlife.com/footbag-on-instagram-september-2020/ - I was having some trouble with access to my site...

I like that format. Good way to talk about things you are doing, what's giving you a bit of inspiration, and something to get off your chest.
