Re: US Open Footbag Championships!
I'm issuing a challenge again this year for all you Intermediates to come out and beat this old man in the Intermediate Routines at the Open this year. Heck, I always finish last, so come on out and see if you can keep me there. By the way, I'll be 68 in July, I started freestyling at the age of 61,...

Re: US Open Challenge to Intermediates
Thanks, Cale. There were only 2 of us in the Intermediate Freestyle event, but we had fun. I, as usual, came in last (or 2nd, in this case). Hope to see you next year.

Re: US Open Challenge to Intermediates
What's going on? I heard today that there is only one other person, besides me, signed up for the Intermediate Freestyle event. Come on, all you folks kicking up a storm and waiting until you can compete in the Open event -- you'll get some great experience doing the Intermediate event before you mo...

US Open Challenge to Intermediates
It's On -- I challenge all you Intermediates to come out and beat me in the Intermediate Freestyle competition. All it takes is a one and one half minute routine set to music. I'm almost 67 and love to kick and come in last every year, so your chances are great -- all you have to do is compete with ...

Re: Too late to start shredding?
Are you kidding me, at 18 your life (and footbagging) is just beginning. I didn't start freestyling until about 6 years ago, when I was 61. It's a great sport and a lot of fun. And, one you can do for most of your life. Heck, I plan on kicking when I'm 100.

Where are the Intermediate Freestylers?
I ask this because there were only two of us this year for the Intermediate Freestyle event at the US Open in Seattle, and only 4 last year in Portland. There HAS to be more of you out there than this. So, please don't think you have to be good enough to be in the Open Freestyle level event until yo...

Re: Tournaments need a new level added
To each his own. Some of us need the goal of competing, others don't. I, for one, don't think I would be kicking as much if I didn't want to improve for the Open.

Re: US Open 2013 June 29-30th
Thanks to Justin, Reilley, and the Rain City Shred for hosting the Open. I had a great time. I was a little disappointed, however, that there weren't enough people for the Intermediate Freestyle Event. Come on, folks, I know there are a lot of you out there waiting to get good enough for the Open Fr...

Re: Tournaments need a new level added
I totally disagree. Without the Intermediate events, I wouldn't be working so hard at trying to perfect some moves. I am just in the one-adds and 2-adds now, but am getting better at many of them, mainly because I am working to compete in the Intermediates at the US Open. Some of us, especially the ...

Re: Tournaments need a new level added
Speaking as an Intermediate competitor, don't get rid of the Intermediate routine event. Working toward competing in that event is what keeps me motivated to keep on kickin' and trying to get better. I realize that I am a little different that other kickers (age 65), but love the sport and working t...

Re: Oldest Freestyle Competitor
I just heard from Jack. He says he is 64 and competes in Net, but not Freestyle anymore, however he still shreds for fun. Being as he is a Footbag Hall of Famer, I am in awe of him and his accomplishments, however, me being 65 and competing in the 2012 US Open Intermediate Freestyle and Circle event...

Ken -- are you talking about Jack Lenz ( I found his alias as hackysackjack on the World Footbag site)? If so, it looks like he is a Footbag Net player, not Freestyler. If so .....

Re: Oldest Freestyle Competitor
Wow, I bow to the master. Do you know of anyone else over 60 who is competing? By the way, where does he live?
I keep trying to get some of my friends into footbag, but they're not buying it.
Hope to see you in Seattle!!

Oldest Freestyle Competitor
I'm claiming the title of World's Oldest Freestyle Footbag Competitor. I competed in the Intermediate Freestyle and Intermediate Circle Events last Summer (2012) in Portland at the US Open Freestyle Footbag tournament at the ripe old age of 65. I'm planning on competing again this year at the Open. ...

Re: Just moved to WA
Some of us are still kicking in Olympia. I kick almost every day. You're welcome to join me sometime, Brent. I'm trying to set a session up with Alex Zerbe, also from Olympia, sometime in the near future.
