hope we aren't scaring you off with all these technical posts! Not at all. if saving $20 is more important to you than having a piece of proper equipment, maybe freestyle's not the thing for you, which is fine. Lots of people have a blast just kicking around whatever they've got. You're right about...

Steve McQueen, to talk about cars and bikes. Manfred von Richthofen, because he probably wouldn't believe that, nearly 100 years after his death, he's still the most famous fighter pilot. And, finally, I'll second Jorden's suggestion of Mike Marshall. Without him and John Stalberger, this forum woul...

The Elemental footbags look all right, but more than I want to spend. And my footbag is stored out of the pets' reach.

In my case, it was an outgrowth of another hobby. I needed some gear for that hobby, and I had a $5 off any order coupon, so I bought a footbag.

I had enough trouble with the ones that come in a set of two (I bought some in Thailand; they were stainless-steel, made a sort of chiming noise, and disappeared under mysterious circumstances). What I saw of the one video looks challenging, but fun.

Safari "bad server response" error

My Internet-connected computer is a Mac, and I usually use Safari. Most of the time, when I try to load a page on this forum, I get a message stating that Safari encountered a "bad server response." A refresh, or hitting the back button after making a post, fixes things. Though that fix is easy, it'...

I've heard of bags filled with organic stuff, but if it gets wet and soggy, it could rot. Maybe you'd have more luck by keeping your footbags in a drawer where the dog can't get them? Rotted organic stuff tends to smell pretty bad, too. My footbag is stored where the dog can't get at it. When I'm k...

Oh, and if you get a hand-stitched bag from someone on here, be sure to ask for a bag without any lead filler. That could go badly should one of your pets steal it. My dog will eat almost anything she can get into her mouth. So, no lead in this house! Are there bags out there that are filled with p...

Unless you have impeccable form, freestyle footbag is generally going to make any joint injuries you have worse. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'd rather tell you the truth then have you only hurt yourself more. You didn't burst my bubble at all! I'm still at a point where I can barely pull off m...

It's not just you.

As far as the aliens/UFOs go, without solid proof or disproof of their existence, I ain't worried about it.

Footbag as a form of knee rehab?

One of the main reasons I got into footbag was learning that John Stalberger used it to help recover from knee surgery. I have dealt with knee pain throughout my adult life. Has anyone who had knee pain before starting footbag noticed that it helped?

My last roommate was the same way.

I'm a halfways decent cook; I can follow a recipe okay, but don't ask me to improvise much. My best work is done with the grill and the deep-fryer.

Best next bag for me?

Another hobby brought me into footbag--I was able to pick up a Duncan Daredevil free. Though it works fairly well, I'm thinking about getting another bag. I'm looking for something that's inexpensive (less than $10, including tax and/or shipping) and fairly durable (I share my one-bedroom apartment ...
