Jeremy, no one in footbag really spins around the bag anyway. We set and spin near or next to the bag (for clarity). What would a juggler say about this topic when reading it? Is a juggling spin move delegitimized by tossing clubs 10 feet in the air? 15 feet? 20 feet? Nope. But the higher they toss,...

It is obviously just an opinion, as opposed to fact, that spin sets above the head are "the." It is as if you are picking some height completely arbitrarily and making it a rule. Why not choose shoulder height, or belly button height, or eye height? And what if a freestyler is 5 feet tall? Wouldn't ...

I grew up around there. There weren't many freestylers there except Dat, who now lives in SF. My parents live 20 min away and I visit them often. If you ever wanna kick a bag (or play net ;) ) I will make the effort to seek you out. You are about 2 hours from Santa Cruz where there is a nice net sce...

So, in my kitchen today I played a little freestyle for some cardio. i was too lazy to leave the house but wanted to work up a sweat. The highlight was hitting a 75 contact tiltless/guiltless string. I also hit some cool tricks (only 4 adds) which I thought were out of the question. Twas fun, but it...

What I am fearing about this process is that so few players from the US will actually register to compete at Worlds, that the International footbag world will realize 1) how small and lacking the freestyle scene is in North America, and 2) that Worlds should not return to N America for a long time b...

Jeremy, one thing you mentioned i disagree with, so I think I'll chime in. Most of what you said I agree with. ". . . it's clearly more of an achievement to turn up at a small event and beat the top ranked player in the world, than to turn up at a larger event where the top ranked player isn't compe...
Get to 50
My challenge for modified is to achieve 50 registered freestylers for open routines BEFORE 50 net players (or 25 open teams) register for open doubles net. We will see who achieves the 50-mark first. Currently, there are 21 net players registered for open doubles net. Currently, there are 16 freesty...

your timing is off for 90% of those pulldowns . . . you're swinging a bit too late, but maybe you already knew that? I think a better way to drill the pulldowns is for someone to toss you oversets from the other side of the net. How far off the net would you say you were hitting those shots? Looked ...

I'll need to check my recently purchased airline tix, but I'm pretty sure I'll be out of town for a lot of the time you're in SF. Looking down your list, I'd say you could cut a day from SF. i don't think you'll want to spend so long there . . . it is a small-ish city. Your drive from Santa Cruz to ...

I accept your beer, sir. I'm really not all that upset as I came off in that post. Hope you tok it lightly. Just so you know, Goldberg has not been consulted. And as for imposing my idea on a "structure that has existed longer than (I) have played the sport" . . . well I can tell you that they used ...

Re: Ian's "well thought out arguments" Why would anyone care what Steve Goldberg thinks about this system? Are you pussies afraid to do anything without getting his approval first? Or does knowing Daddy Goldberg's opinion just make you feel better? Whether or not he said it was a bad idea should hav...

LOL, no. He used my idea. I think you actually replied to my original thread about it in general footbag dude. Maybe this one came first. In any case, it is a good way to start out. I based it off the system used for generating the world rankings for NET. The system works pretty well. The only thing...
