Re: Kankeri Japan

Great stuff! Dyno x15 is a lot!! Blender > pdx blender would be sick! Thanks! blender > pdx blender is a cool combo. I have been practicing blenders more so sooner than later should be hitting that combo (more) regularly. For visiting Japan, we'd probably come for 1 week minimum, maaybbe push it to...

I love hearing that you have been kicking. Great! Also good to hear you got yelled at for that ripwalk. You are like that mouse that gets shocked when eating cheese, but keeps going back for more...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

Good run, that first trick was huge! Yeah I wish I could go to World's too...more generally speaking but also this year as well. As it turns out, I feel like in the near future I won't be able to attend, what with family and jobs and whatnot. Once things get settled down I would like to be able to h...

Re: Kankeri Japan

Congrats on the successful presentation! The travel sounds fun. We still plan to visit Japan for our honeymoon some day, but it's already been 3 years since our wedding -- flights are so expensive now! Bullet trains look insane! Thanks! Yes travel is fun for sure, although with a child it is ...

Re: Mathieu

I have!! And also have a shred partner. But we struggle to have more then 1 sess a week due to out of control reasons. James is back in action!! Yay! Great to hear you are kicking, and that you have a shred buddy! Those make a world of difference. I have been on and off in winter but back to 1-3 se...

Re: Cass shreds - USO 2023

I read it too! Great write up Cass, probably the most in-depth write up since Ken stopped posting here. So happy to hear you are still kicking. I miss footbag events. There are some in Japan, but with a smallish baby to manage, I don't have much of a social life just yet. Regarding your knee, it sou...

That is great news! You can 'officially' Footbag again! Hoping for the best Erik. Don't push too hard! I definitely know how hard it is not to just bust big tricks after a long break.

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

Your shred is looking really good. Is that one of the benefits of COVID? :)

A 1-hour session is indeed a proper session. I remember talking with Honza years ago and he said when he kicks solo he goes hard for like 40 minutes, then stops.

Re: Kankeri Japan

Kumamoto was a success, although traveling with a baby is hard work. My presentation went well, and got to network a bit which was nice. It was really hot there, and even Maya was complaining, which is rare. We had a bunch of good food, saw Kumamoto castle, and got gifts for people. Yesterday I had ...

Re: Kankeri Japan

I haven't kicked this week (now Friday). Maya is out here visiting me, so when work is over, I have my father hat on and have no me time. I brought my gear to uni but haven't had the time to kick. I did a few ATWs yesterday in my office, but that is about it. We are going to Kumamoto this weekend, l...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

That's not too surprising. Australia has been taking a lot of funding out of language and linguistics programs over recent years. It was supposedly going to be the "Asian Century" or something like that but those plans went by the wayside somewhere along the way. That sounds like NZ too. Victoria U...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

I agree about the vlogging. It never caught on with me. I enjoy seeing scenes from Australia. I'd like to go there one day. Maybe I can find a conference there and spend like a week or so there... Do this. Would be fun to lineup a kick around something like that. I had a quick look at couldn't find...

Can I join this club too? My left side pixie set is way worse than the other side, though I feel I've improved it a bit in recent years.
Hmm. I'll have to talk to Erik first, but it should be ok...

Re: Canberra, Australia via SCL - Daniel Boyle

You're so prolific with the vlog! I kind of wish I vlogged, but so that nobody saw it because I have nothing interesting to say lol. But it looks so fun the way you edit together your highlights! And not just the hacky. I agree about the vlogging. It never caught on with me. I enjoy seeing scenes f...

Re: Muffinman

Yay footbag for Erik! Something I have noticed with your shred, and following your posts here, is that once you start to be able to kick again, you try for perhaps tricks that are too hard and end up hurting yourself again. My advice would be to stop yourself before you do those. Like you mentioned,...

Re: Kankeri Japan

Great to see you updating so much. I've also struggled with flip pixies for my whole career. Sometimes they are so ugly when midstring out of something that takes effort. I always find that keeping the dex closer to my body, under my face, and my knee pointed my inward are the things that help the ...

It's been a long while since I have posted here. A few months. After all these years, Covid has finally caught up with me. So not feeling great at the moment, but I should get through it just fine. Yeah the few of us who post semi-regularly have been a bit quiet recently. Anyway, good to see you po...

Re: Kankeri Japan

I think this is absolutely a thing. I find myself falling into the trap of watching this videos mindlessly, they are not even good but it's just like a connection into the brain that they have been able to fire up. Yeah, I don't like it at all. It's such an addiction eh? Recently I have been verbal...

Kicked today. It was windy and rainy, but managed to kick for about 40 minutes under a bridge near my place. May 22 2023  gyro mirage > pixie muted op clip x2.
