My father hates everything that I do, how I do it, and why I do it.

My mother's reaction is mixed. On one side, she finds it to be beautiful in how the tricks are linked and appreciates the difficulty in doing them, but on the other side, she's under my father's influence.

My grandparents are indifferent. They just ask me not to jump.

My cousins(younger than me) feel that it's awesome, but they have this sort of attitude which i absolutely hate: "I wouldn't be able to do that." It's bloody anoying.

My friends are also largely indifferent. One takes pride in that he can do a half-assed toe stall, but the concensus is the expression of doubt that they would be able to do anything similar, and thus might possibly use their air of indifference as if they are treating footbag as 'sour grapes.'

For some reason, I doubt these attitudes would change even if I were to suddenly improve massively.

At first when i started and told about footbag to a group of frieds/stoners who i hanged out with they all laughed and were like "Bwahahahah how do you train at home? Does your mom throw you the bag and you kick it back to her? Bwgahahahaha".And all other sorts of shit.

My mom was like whatever. He plays footbag let him do what he wants. My dad was quite interested but he was like WTF 25 $ for a little bag you gotta be kidding me  .

Ummm now my mom told me that i should like try to promote myself to do some advers on TV or something. She is so effin proud that im European Interdmidiate champ :D well that makes me happy i used to be a trouble kid.

Dad thinks its very good and i have a future :) also he always notices the progress i make in videos i show him.

My girl thinks its hot and is maybe proud of me because im training little kids and doing stuff to help the sport grow here in Estonia. Also she likes to watch videos sometimes and wants to start stitching :).

The friends i have now are mostly footbag ones. The other ones think it is cool ) like yeah go Kljoooopaaa :D.

The stoners are now fun to meet :) specially if shreding on the beach.Feels good ).

my family and friends are so supportive. my parents come to east coasts and funtastiks when they can, and when he can my dad competes with me in doubles net, which is always amusing because im not that good and he is overweight and smokes :)

at my first freesytle routine i had a posse of my grandparents and friends to cheer me on. sometimes friends will stop by if i am playing and kick with me.

most people think its badass and completely characteristic of me to play/compete in a totally random sport that most people have heard of. and they all really respect footbaggers.

My family doesnt really think much about me playing footbag, they figure its just a phase, but I have been doing it for 3 years! When my friends and I kick in a circle they think I am badass, but thats about it.

Friends:
All footbag!!!

Family:
When I first started, no one except my cousins noticed what I was doing and were like awesome. My dad thought it would be better if there were at leaset 3 people doing the exact same thing like "RIVER DANCE". I can't tell you how $#%(*&& STUPID that sounds. My mom was like cool but can't see very well so she has no clue.

When I first got married my wife kinda didn't like it and so I kinda gave it up for like 4 or 5 years. Every now and then I would kick or go to Richie's house to play, but nothing major.

Today my wife and I play like 4-5 times a week. We perform in front of passing crowds in a heavy tourist area of our town. Just yesterday I had a guy in a car stopped at a light shout out that I would make all the "Hacky Sackers" down the way bow at my feet. I like those comments :)

Mom: doesn't like that im spending so muh money, but is happy its not on video games.

Dad: Kinda happy when he sees me hit a trick or so...but doesn't say anything that much.

Brothers: Kinda jealous, my little brother, 10 years old...great age to start imo, is starting to play footbag...his record is 5 hits, but its both side and they're almost set straight up every time.

Friends: think its cool..and then also think i waste my time. Most of my friends are supportive and nice about it..but then there are always some that think the exact opposite.

Mom: thinks it's a great work-out, but she still thinks I should gain some weight. (i'm 17, 5'6", and only 112 lbs.)

Aunt's boyfriend: He thinks it's cool that I'm so into something and willing to spend time honing this skill :D . He's the one who buys me bags with paypal. I pay him back, of course.

Rest of the family: They're just happy I don't do drugs, smoke, or drink. They also know that I don't get out of the house much, so footbag's a good thing to them.

Friends: We play doubles two square (squares are huge and the staff doesn't let us mark up the quad floor so we're kinda stuck to that) and/or circle kick at lunch. I find it annoying when they point out every single one of my drops. They'll say things like: "OMG! He dropped it!"

parents:

its interesting- first they didnt understand the switchover i made from hack to shred, then they thought i spent way too much time doing it, now they appreciate and understand it a lot better, but they still dont really get how good i am  they're also now glad that i do it for fitness reasons, as its most of the excersize i get. i show them new tricks sometimes when they're real cool looking ones (hopover swirl recently) and my dad usually goes "cool" and my mom goes "oh wow!"

brothers:

i have 5 older brothers. they all are pretty impressed, several of them hacked pretty seriously back in the day (thats actually how i got my start playing hack), several of them are blatantly jealous :P

friends:

i try to be as un-obnoxious with my footbag obsession with my friends as possible, trying to not play when im hanging out with them downtown too often or only talk about footbag when im with other BSC members and some non-footbag friends so my friends pretty much all really think its the shit as far as i can tell. lots of them introduce me to people as "the best footbagger in MA" which may or may not be true  8)

Whenever someone brings up hack, or mentions it in a story, or even for no reason at all, my close friends and my girlfriend always mention that I'm the best palyer in Toronto.

My mom bought me my first pair of lavers and since then its been everything on my own.

My step-dad thinks it a good thing for me to be interested. As for my dad he wonders why would I put forth the effort in something that doesn't A: help me study, or B: Make money (he's that kind of guy).

As for my friends I have a few that footbag so we all support each other.
