Footbag Calendar?

Post by Dawn Of Freestyle » 10 Nov 2008 21:18

I was thinking of making a 2009 footbag calendar to sell on Freedom for the holidays. Let me know if you think this is a good idea...

AND if you would like to submit photos to be included that would be awesome!!!!!

Great! I know you have created some great images in the past. I would love for your stuff to be included.

I have a few pictures that are of good quality...if I receive enough images in the next few weeks to cover 12 months, then I will go ahead with it. If there is only limited interest I will not make very many calendars, but will still go ahead with the project.

I think its a great idea!!

But....
Lets keep it to picture in which the players have their shirts on, other wise it becomes half-naked-skinny-white-boy-kinda-homoerotic calender instead of a Footbag calendar.

Then I guess we will not be marketing this to ALL those women who just can't keep their eyes off of those half-naked shredders

I guess it might be a bit awkward for most of you to have a calendar with photos of half-naked men hanging on your bedroom wall...I see your point.

If no shirts is the consensus, then my photos won't work.

I'm going to really need you guys to step up and submit some photos then!!

Is sweat an unappealing concept as well?

Just a thought.

Hey this is a great shot of Ben, I put it on a black background to fit the calendar dimensions.

Do you have a higher resolution copy of this image? This one is at 96 ppi and it's best to have them at least at 300 ppi.

I'll submit some photos, but give me a little time :)

I have literally thousands of footbag photos to trawl through, but I don't think many would be good for this. I might see if I can arrange to do a shoot or something.

I'll email you highest quality versions of the photos, hopefully by the end of the weekend :)

SHIRTS OFF PUSSIES!

Seriously. Let's see what a real athlete looks like under all those clothes.

WAAAAAAAY more epic sans chemise.

Who the fuck would be your target audience anyway? The only muthafuckas that would buy this is footbaggers anyway. Don't play for a crowd, keep it real.

James, I think the point is not that footbag players have a problem with images of shirtless footbag players, but that the calender-owner would be displaying these images for their non-footbag friends to see and do not want their sexuality questioned -- "Hey, why does James always hang up pictures of shirtless boys above his desk?"

Anyway, shirts or skins, I don't care. My only requirement is that you can actually see the footbag in the images -- CLEARLY see the bag in EACH image. I just don't like footbag photos where you can't see the footbag.

For the record, I've had a modest-sized picture of Rippin' Rick Reese thumb-tacked up in my cube for many years now, and he's sans shirt. There's also a flyer from the Colorado Shred Symposium 1 up there too, and it features Ryan Mulroney, Big ADD Chad, Eli Piltz, Dave Holton, and Rippin' again, and again, they're all shirtless.

Still, I can appreciate the request for shirts. My photos, though, are all fairly small an in low quality and black-and-white. They don't exactly draw much attention. A nice big colorful glossy picture with all that sweat visible might be a different story.

All that is not especially relevant, though, coming from me. I'm unlikely to actually be a customer, unless the calender features primarily players from the 1990's, which seems doubtful. I really COULD use a big picture of Eric Wulff hitting gyro dragonfly, or something like that...

I don't mean this to sound negative, it's just my opinion:

a footbag calendar sounds really lame to me

edit: especially if bowler is featured in it

The NYFA crew has a few awesome snapshots of famous footbaggers from our past two tournaments, especially in our first one last year in the winter (David Clavens and Jorden Moir, to name a few). They're both wearing appropriate clothing as well, with some shots that have the bag visible I think. I'm just not sure if I'm allowed to distribute them without the consent of those depicted, but if I can I will contribute.

I'm sorry to say but I don't have many of myself playing footbag. Most pictures of me playing are usually blurry and don't have the bags hown most of the time.

yeah, if you're gonna produce something featuring me, might as well make it wall-sized, so bob can tack it up on his bedroom ceiling and truly get his moneys worth

If any of you have a photo you think would be good send it my way, shirts or not.

Thanks to those of you who are working to make this a reality!

Yeah, I wish I had more photos from the days of ol'
I wasn't even on the scene until 2000.
I do have a lot of video from 2000 to 2003: Eric, Peter, Rippin', Ryan, Chad, Mestas...anyway.
