Relationships with people that don't support footbag

Post by Cass » 13 Aug 2013 05:00

I've seen this scenario play out far too many times. Super cool awesome footbagger gets girlfriend and completely falls out of the footbag scene. This is not acceptable!

It's one thing to get distracted by love, it happens. But the person that you are with should support you and encourage you to pursue your passions even if it is not something that they are interested in.

So I just wanted to say this - STOP being so whipped! Don't let women stop you from doing what you enjoy.

you can replace footbag with just about any hobby/sport/passion a significant other doesn't support.

What's worse is when two footbaggers hook up, and then break up and one of them quits footbag because of the awkwards.

We should start interventions for footbaggers who have this problem.

Cool thread but I can't really think of any examples. Maybe Josh Benham?

Relationships with people that don't support footbag...hmm, kind of an oxymoron, isn't it? :)

I think this fits with many applications and interests. If your partner does not support you in any venture, they are not the one to be with anyway.

Me and my wife support each other in everything. We have accomplished more together than before we met. School, work, family, interests, everything! Even interests silly such as competitive Magic The Gathering or Sewing Footbags. Thats how it should be. Some people get the idea that changing who they are for their mate is what they need to do for the relationship. I think this wrong. Its also wrong to change who you are when a relationship falls apart. But life has a funny way of obscuring or changing dreams interests and priorities. As life changes so do we...

Yeah, Cassy, great point, but who are the players that aren't supported by their signif. others that drop off? I couldn't think of any either. I know I've had some exes that haven't supported me playing footbag... that's why they're exes.

I don't really feel like naming people specifically but I have seen it happen a few times. Luckily some of those people came back to our side :D
