CANADA FOOTBAG
Naw I love it -- it looks like we dominate the whole country
I never got an email. I'm sure there must be other clubs, too. You forgot Hotsteppers in Saskatchewan. There are clubs in BC too.
I love the design!! I think it is my favourite of all the site designs I have seen of yours, Adam! It is sooo stylish, yet so simple. I found the Footbag Ontario (or was it Brantford?...probably Brantford...) too cluttered. I REALLY REALLY like this. It's going to be awesome, especially with you at the helm, and people so eager to help out. I will help with anything I can. You can email me at erik@hackrifice.com.
I still feel opposed to the forum, though. I doubt I would post much. I feel there should be one main forum (modified) and smaller interactive sites. That's how I feel. It's obviously completely up to you since it's your project, but I don't think I will participate much as far as that goes.

Okay.
So I have the design cut & coded for the most part, I am working on the flash map (its harder to do then i thought it would be), I have a few guys doing some research on the clubs in Canada.
Jorden Moir has already wrote out a full 2 add list to put up, we have my worlds 2004 video that needs to be edited and posted as soon as Mosher brings it to GLASS and sends it home with Atom. We have a CRAZY archive system going... I wont reveal too much, but its gonna be similar to windows explorer on the website... folders, files, blah blah... easy to navigate, tons of info in a small space yadda yadda...
So I need some stuff to fill it with. I only really got two or three of the emails back (one from edmonton, one from nova scotia...) Thats pretty bad considering I sent out 30 of them. Maybe not as many people are interested in this as I thought?
Send in whatever you want, articles about footbag, move lists and descriptions, jobs, links to vids, VIDS, pics, anything really. The archiving starts now!
And your club info, you can PM it to me, or email it to me. Either one works.
Just so everyone knows, the message board on this site will only contain website information and discussion, very small. I am also going to proliferate (sp?) the use of modified.ca on the site.
I bought the domain today, paid for a year of hosting, and completed the tertiary design work. We should be good to go live in a matter of days. (whenever the cheque clears).
Peace.

Perhaps those people also got the same problem that Mosher and I faced Adam - with the email in the junkfolder and whatnot. It has to be the case, because we all know how great this site is/will be and how much work you put into it.
Anyways, I'm so excited to check it out! So ever excited!
EDIT - I am Rory!

Keep it up!
Yo!
I think what all you guys are doing/trying to do for Canadian Shred is great. I'm tied up right now so I can't really help you guys with the different projects but... Keep it up!
I'll be done with school (programming) before the end of the year. Maybe then I'll be able to volunteer and help on website/database/programming stuff.

Yes... 1000 times yes!SlashC wrote:Score. Anyone interested in there being a Canadian Footbag Tournament. (like nationals?)
I wish there was a Canadian Championships, that would be great.
Alright, I'm proposing it now, it's in Halifax this year.. Everyone fly to my house.
Top prize is a large steak and a cold beer.
See you there.

Re: Championships..
Well, considering that zero minutes have gone into planning anything so far it is really too early to tell.footbinc wrote:Is there gonna be net at these canadian championships?
You should ask whoever winds up being in charge for there to be a net comp too.

I think the problem with footbag in Canada is we're so spread out. It's like a bunch of footbag islands that only ever visit the islands adjacent (and only once in a while at that!). It would be great if we could have one tournament a year to bring us all together. A tournament where we could all meet in one place and make awesome. It would be a lot of work to organize, but I think it would be worth it. What clubs would be able/willing to put on a National Footbag Championship?
