I always struggle to tell if a lot of Europeans are taking the piss, or if they're just not good English speakers. I don't mean that as a criticism, because I can't speak any other languages, so their English is a lot better than my Italian/German etc. I just really don't know with posts like the last one if it's trying to have a go, or if it's serious.

I kicked with Chris back in the day (last year some time I guess). He is a nice guy in person. I would consider him a friend. Maybe not a BFF or anything. But I would kick with him again.

I can understand where his anger is coming from. I had issues with a lot of the Ego maniacs that ruled footbag back in the day. But as time pasted - those ego disappeared.

Old age will do that to you!

Hope none of you hold anything against anyone on modified in person. Unless you know them personally. My online persona is nothing like who I am in person. Online I can be who or whatever - even a giant prick. In person I really don't have that strong of an opinion one way or the other.

I think online you can give yourself power - but if you are not careful you will end up creating more enemies than friends. I have been down that road, been banned, etc... But in the end - here I am still kicking and still posting.

I bumped the thread because I feel that some of what Chris was ranting about is relevant. While others parts are just plain egotistical on his part.

Anyways - back to shred!

Wow man that's totally nice of you. I thought you were cool back in SD too :) Idk, I created this thread a year and a half ago, I barely remember why at this point, but I think it was just all the wack threads that people were posting at the time, and I just felt it would be cool to have the forum a little less grungy, a lot because I felt some connection with the community and a duty to keep it respectful, etc. I do apologize for the posts I've made in here and in other threads that were hateful though. A lot of it came from the fact that I cared about the footbag community at the time. I felt a part of it, and let the anger I had towards people I thought were posting garbage get the better of me.

I don't have any attachment to the footbag community anymore, and pretty much feel as an outcast of it. I do consider myself a nice person, and I always try to go out of my way for people as much as possible. I was pretty new to forums when I first signed up on here, and my 'internet maturity' was pretty much non-existent. It's weird, I'm 33 years old now but most of the time I still feel like a kid at heart.

I think most of the people I've met from here are great people. I don't really mind if people on here dislike me, or hold something against me. But I hope that I have shown some people from here that I'm a decent person with a good heart. People like Matt Cross inspire me in a lot of ways, like we bickered and fought online and then in person we would have great laughs together. He's just a nice guy, I've never really see him be intentionally mean to anyone, and he'll always go out of his way to talk to you no matter who you are. I mean, I don't hate anyone on here (well except Waylon but he deserves it :P)

I've played footbag less than 10 times in 6 months. I'm STILL letting my knee heal. Every time I think it's 100% better I feel a weird ache and I tell myself give it another couple weeks or so. I plan on going back to the gym and kicking a couple times a week after the Inauguration. I still read this forum because I still find footbag extremely interesting, and it's fun to read about what people are doing.

I don't know, this turned into a rant/update on my life, but I guess this is as good a place as any to put it.

I'm not sure I'm a typical American, but I am American. I think this topic is at least entertaining to read, if anything. I don't think there is any insight here though.

There aren't necessarily more American assholes than assholes of other nations. We just put our assholes in the spotlight for the world to see. Just look at Paris Hilton. She makes America look bad... but it's a fact that there are thousands of women who are very much like her in other nations. They just aren't stinking rich with TV shows and such.
