I don't think there would be much to see. It's also considered by many people that it's impossible that the LHC will end the world. Stories like this are a great demonstration of how misleading the media can be. A few crazy people think that something bad will happen, and are so crazy that they're spending money on it. The media reports it as if those crazy people may be right, while ignoring the science that shows that they're wrong because it's too complicated.
