I was doing some reading (The Wall Street Journal no less) and was wondering if anyone here wanted to take a stab at what John Kerry pays in taxes?

Typical Middle Class Families 20%

George W. and Laura Bush paid a tax rate of 30%.

John and Teresa Kerry ... Go on, geuss.

1) I doubt he does his taxes personally

2) If you can find ways to lower your own taxes who isn't going to go for it?

3) He's a rich guy paying what he is legally obliged to pay and pushing for legislation to increase the amount he is required to pay. Good.

i laughed when i first read that number in the news yesterday. mostly because it came along with the disclaimer that he hasn't given up all his tax information, and the 12.8% is an "effective" tax rate. i really think this is just a case of using numbers to ones advantage. who are we to judge if john and teresa donate 4 million a year to charities? i'm not saying that he isn't doing anything sketchy with his taxes, just that it's way too early to make a judgement. as homer simpson said, "Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. 14% of people know that."

True, we haven't seen his tax records.

I say that he pays NO taxes.

Until we see the records I am right.
