Drilling your soles

Post by jon » 11 Aug 2005 06:06

When players talk about drilling the soles on their lavers do they mean drilling wholes up through the sole or horizontally through the shoe?

Thanks

Horizontally. I think it provides more cushion/shock absorption. I don't know for sure, I've never done it.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Horizontally - You know shoes that have those air cushions or things like that around the heel area ? It's a similar concept that it allows the shoes to cushion more with when absorbing shock. I've never tried it, and I don't know how well it works, but I've seen kickers with that mod. Ken S. ? Do you still do that to your shoes or am I just making things up in my mind ?

I've seen people drill vertically as well... I think the main point is weight loss and moe importantly flexibility of the soul.

I just got a new pair of lavers? Should I drill horizontally or vertically?

Is drilling necessary at all would be my question ?

I have my lavers for some weeks now and I don't think that drilling is really worth the effort ?

Enlighten me please :D

i think it might increase speed for tricks like ATW and other dex's. i've never modded any shoes for footbag.

I think he meant speed for bigger tricks for more advanced players, and tricks like ATW for him personally.

I haven't drilled my Lavers and I don't think I will. I like my ninja slippers just how they are. If I were to get a new pair sometime in the future off eBay or whatnot, I might try it on the pair and see what it feels like. But, probably not.

yes Elis drill them horizontaly but Ianek drilled them verticaly, he said to me that it does the same thing but you dont see the holes....

personally, i drilled them horizontaly because i had shin splits ... it helps alot to recover. the sole is alot smoother, more confortable.

If I get time I will post some pics of the drilling I did. I got some tips from ellis that were very helpful. The holes were drilled both vertically and horizontally and formed a honeycomb pattern in the shoe's sole when completed.

What is more important?

drilling your shoes?

or drilling your tricks?
