Where to get filler?

Post by jtm94 » 24 Jan 2011 18:59

I just have been messing around with simple footbags and I've become interested in starting to make bags for my friends.
the only filler I've used so far is light airsoft bb's(which play unpredictably), metal airsoft bb's(which don't play bad but are too big and destroy the material), and black graphite sand(which is by far the best of the two).
I'm going to start to use some pool filter sand because I just happen to have a bag of it laying around, but I want to get better fillers.
I'm specifically interested in smaller bb's, almost like a metal sand. Does anyone know where I could find this online or at any store? I will NOT use lead bb's, but anything else that you guys may have found that seems to be economic enough to be used as a filler would be appreciated.
I've looked at mcmaster.com and found 1/16 and 1/8 steel bb's for around $4 for a pack of 500.
Any input is appreciated.

I may try it. Are you happy with it?
I was hoping to get more help....I thought maybe a blog that is solely focused on footbag would yield more help..

Wow, that's pretty cheap! We pay about $160 for 7 lbs. of tungsten.
