Other Footbag Patterns

Post by beckermj » 17 Jun 2011 12:01

I've been looking around for some other patterns to make a sphere out of geometrical shapes. I found this one that is deceptively similar to a 32-panel bag, but instead has 42 panels. However, it is still only regular pentagons and hexagons. The name is "truncated rhombic triacontahedron". Has anyone tried to sew one of these things?

If you have, please share! If you have any other nifty or odd patterns that you haven't seen around much, I would like to see those too.

now that's just mean, matt. that bag is impossible to wrap one's head around.

becker, you can find all sorts of potential footbag designs by googling 'archimedian solids' and 'platonic solids'. then, simply tweak for aesthetics and stitch away!

@mc C-Fan asked of that footbag you posted on the topic: http://www.modified.in/footbag/viewtopi ... 350#464350

If you can stitch that then you may have a customer.
