Players love them, stitchers hate them...
...
SPIKES!!!
Now, I know why!
After stitching bags for 5 years I finally got to make a spike bag for a trade I have with a (not unknown to you) german stitcher/buddy!
I kinda started to stitch the bag but am a bit afraid to ruin it!
That's why I opened this topic!
Could all of you (experienced-spike-bag-stitchers) post the way you stitch these bags, from the very first start (tracing the spikes on fabric and how to define the width of the spikes base) until the end?
pictures would be very much appreciated!!!

i just connect them at the two spots i stitch through connecting the hexes, the bleedhole spots. I line the flat end of each spike with the short side hexes so no spike fabric will end to the inside of the bag making it rolly.
also i never trace spikes, i simply cut a long strip of fabric for how tall i want the spikes to be and start eyeballing the cutting (each flat edge I try to make the same width as the short side of the hexagon). also with the long strip method, you just cut like /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ I find myself trimming the flat end of the spikes to make them even with the small hex side as i make the bag.
i dont have any spike bags to make at the moment so no pics yet.
good luck. thats why they are +$5 a bag for spikes for me, maybe i should make it more cause they are really a bitch. contrasting dark spikes on a light solid bag/ light spikes on dark solid bag makes it very easy to spot which is the main reason i like em.

i hate to sew spikes too... but when i do i also take a long stripe of fabric, just like brian, but i then mark the base of the spike with dots. with some ruler and the messurement of your hexes this is pretty easy and fast, and if you fold the stripe after a few dots you cut spikes in no time
ps: i cant wait for the bag
