32 pannels

Post by crazydwarf » 01 Jul 2004 17:17

OK I have a question about 32 pannels, I thought I had heard that when sewing one you don't sew all the pannels together. I thought it was something like you don't sew the hexagons together or something, but when I looked at my 32 pannel all the pannels are sewn together, mine is not a very good 32 pannel, so I thought I'd look at my friends Abshire, and all the pannels are sewn together on that one too. Am I missing something or am I just confused...

I have an abshire and all of the panels are not sewn together, the pent/hex seams are sewn, but not the hex/hex ones

Whatcha do is

Every pent is sewin in a circle. When you get to the corner where 2 hexes would meet, you put on thread through the very corner of the hex and then just move on to the next seam. Never taking cutting the thread, every pent is one piece of thread. Then at the end after you've done all 5 hexes you bunch and knot

alright I think I got that, I must have not looked hard enough at the abshire (for fear of breaking it). I think I understand now, thanks for the help...

Do you know WHY those holes are there?

Remember, get as far to the corner as you can. and make sure you leave lots of flange after it, so that beads dont come out. Longer the flange, better the seal

well I assume the holes are there to save sewwing time and to allow you to blead out beads easier but that's pretty much just me guessing...

Good job sweetcheeks

Remember the flange thing. It will save you a lot of practice time if you get that right the first time
