Today was super princed out. Jamez came into town. Nathan, Reile, Tommy, Jamez and I kicked for a hot 3 hours whilst Zeke, Ronnie and the Net guys netted it up. Barbara made an appearance too.
Then we went to Giordano's and had the best stuffed spinach I've had in a hhwhile. Ate so much. Saw Genzu and Scott D before we head, supposed to kick with them tomorrow.

Rode my bike to Wrigley Field (7 miles) only to find out Scott meant Wrigley Building. He said he sent another message clarifying, but no and boo. Anyway, hopped on the train and kicked with Daryl Genz. I think he was taking it easy doing some pixie shuffle, and some cool weird dragony and head and back and 2-3 bag juggle stuff.

Dear Pixie,
You disappoint me. At one time we were pretty good together. I'm sure that's because I took you out to the park and practiced you 2 weeks straight. But your sister Stepping is always there on time, always doing what she's supposed to do. Pixie, you're always hanging around Laver. Guess what? I'm gonna cut Laver up or tie him down in certain places. We'll see if you get so attached from then on.

I just bought some Lavers. I've had 4 pairs so far, and each time a different color. Well I found some money ones. No Navy or Green trim, but BLACK! Not as good as all black, but pretty sweet. So I'll post the links in case you guys want some too. Also they have RED trim.

My shoes came in... I'm bout to open them.
I've always worn 11.5, but I got 11's for a change. We'll see
Sesh with Nathan @ Wells. Pretty rainy lately. No rain but we had mass clouds and a nice breeze and a purple sky. Good sesh. The mods I did to my current lavers seems to have helped my pixies, by not getting them stuck. Otherwise I started off with some long strings - with butters and ripwalks and bread and butter whirls and spins. I felt really good about it. At the end, blender buffet, and blurry torque BS. I thought of torque>drifter rpt, only did it BS.
I'm used to 2 man sessioning, but we played hella long, and with the long runs, so I was super tired... then we played another hour Felt good. I've heard people throw up from lots of intense sport... one day.

Tiring sesh again. I hit FURY for the 2nd time. Dream move. The first time I hit it was like 2 years ago in Kamil's basement.
Can't wait for festivals and hacking and wimmens.
~~
Watched the vid Scott made from when Daryl was here (on facebook). I don't hate my style. I haven't made/seen vid of myself in forever.
Oh and I hit Smog and Haze in a string yesterday. Was random. Those 3 dex DLO tricks seem easy to me now, and I never really practiced them to get em better. But I just set lower and baboosh.

Ottawa Jam
Saturday, Reile and I drove out 1.5 hrs to meet up James in the middle of Illinois - Ottawa to be exact. Not far considering I normally travel half an hour to sessions and over an hour to Navy Pier.
The ride was swell, I like talking to Reile, and I was excited so we chatted it up while listening to the new Silversun Pickups album "Swoon."
We arrived at Allen Park, the spot I chose based on Google maps because it's next to the river, and the fraggin thing is FLOODED. We parked and went down and took some pics and explored.
James arrived and we changed locations to a park in the middle of town. Now here's a tender morsel of knowledge about the town we were in - they looove Abraham Lincoln. I guess Ottawa was the location of the first Douglas-Lincoln debate... my bad - Lincoln-Douglas. Gotta put Lincoln first, so as to continually make Douglas feel salty as hell. I mean all over the murals on the buildings and even the statues in the fountain - Lincoln was all benevolent and tall, and Douglas was a short and salty sourpuss.
...so we head on into this park with Lincoln all up ons, and you wouldn't guess the name of the place
Washington Square baby.
We started kicking. James had definitely removed a bunch of the rust from his blades since the last time we played 3 weeks before.
--
2 younger girls came by and were pretty interested. James gave them 2 footbags - quite nice of him. I busted out a pen to give them info and I called one of the girls, turns out it was a boy.
--
Kept playing and I hurt my lower back on a same eggbeater. My back needed stretching and I ignored it, and freak occurence - I threw the shit out of it or some nerve got pinched or a muscle knotted, and I was done, son. Lay down, but it got progressively worse. We had only been playing for like 30 minutes!
Walked around, back was not getting better, got progressively worse. We checked out a demolished building:
It was Prom and everyone came out to get their pics taken where we were kicking:
Also I printed out the coordinates to a (the(well there are 2, but the other one is really long)) geocache in Ottawa. I always like to find these when
I visit places. It's cool b/c it also gave us an excuse to hang with Jamez more. We headed down near the river afraid that our treasure mighta been swallowed up by the river flood, but James found it under the bridge right on the precipice. I'm glad he found it since it was his first, and I'm glad Pauline and him liked it.
Then we ate Cracker Barrel. By this time I'm walking hunched over like an old man with my hands behind my back. Couldn't pass up an opportunity to eat at the ole barrel though. Played the peg game and got 5 left (4 left is an ignoramoose) and then 2 left. Ate some luscious chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, cornbread with apple butter, and some sweet tea. Then bought some mallow cups for my girl cuz she likes em, then left. Went back for tradition's sake real quick, then off home.
~~
I can walk now! The first day I could walk, but all hunched, and pain. That and the second day I couldn't even turn over in bed. I DL'ed a bunch of movies and watched em. Role Models: fuck Paul Rudd actually I mean it. New season of Scrubs! Gonna watch one after this post.
So yeah each day remarkably improved. It's the 4th night since now, and I think I could run if I had too, but this morning it was tough to walk my dog round the block. 2 more days I think of healing. Maybe a few more before footbag.
~~
It's really prince to kick with James. It motivated me to get really good. I hope we keep this up of kicking every few weeks.
