LazyBonez

Post by Lazy-Bonez » 02 Sep 2014 23:19

Hey. My name is Nikita, i'm a footbager from Russia, Moscow. You already have Aleksey's blog here. Usually i kick with him.

Some facts:
I've been kicking for already... 10 years?
In 2007 got some knee injuries, recovered from them (with some consequnses) and continued kicking, but with less passion.
Never been to any of Euro or World champs. I dont think we can count Euros that took place in Moscow (last year?)..

Quite a lazy player.

About conepts i can do:
All 2add tricks, ducking/diving clippers/butterflies, pdx mirages/illusions, toe/clipper drifters.
Sets: stepping/pixie/fairy/atomic.

But i'm limited in hitting diff combination of tricks/sets listed above due to injuries.

One of the latest videos (thanks to Aleksey) is http://youtu.be/gOuhCwEqzPo.

I hope that it wont be 'one-post-thread' and i continue writing stuff here.

Welcome Nikita!
It's always nice to have another footbagger/blogger around. Take it easy and enjoy yourself with kicking. I tend to put too much pressure on myself. Don't follow suit! Also, what happen to your knee? Is it from footbagging?

When I was looking at your name, I thought of the toy from way back in the day. But I couldn't remember if it was Lazy Bones or Crazy Bones. Both of the photos were had and so were there laughs.

Hey Nikita, bummer about your injury. I was in the same boat a year and a half ago. Chronic shin splints. Lasted about a year. My injury taught me how to play properly though, so in a way, I was thankful for it. After I fixed my form, my shin splints went away for good, for the most part. I also realized that if you find yourself injured, then you were doing something wrong.

I watched your video and the one thing I noticed that you should really actively try to fix: Your hunching. Hunching hinders your game by more than you might think. I hunched for years. I started noticing huge leaps in my game when I kicked my hunching habit. Standing straight actually gives you more time to move with the bag and a more clear view of the bag.

Fixing your hunch could even help your knees in the long run.

Hope to see you posting more here. Good luck with the knees. Injuries are tough but you can persevere through them.

Heh, thanks for accepting :)

Due to injury i've started learning 2adds from scratch, and that helped a lot. Now my game a lot more stable and fluent comparing to how bad it was several years ago :D

Thank you, i know about that problem, and try to avoid hunching, but... You know, i tend forget about good posture quite often..

Had a good session today. Stil a bit sore after previous intensive sessions with Aleksey.

 tons of atw in/out
 fairy butterfly bs
 osis > stepping near clipper bs (almost done rpt)
 longest run for today: pickup > atw in > mirage rpt > pickup > atw in > mirage > smear > mirage rpt > butterfly > pdx mirage > near butterfly > pdx mirage rpt > near butterfly > ducking clipper > pdx mirage rpt (30 contacts to handcatch)

Will renew season gym ticket in a few days and start visiting swiming pool and sauna again. That'll help my knees to feel better and feel more relaxed after work and street workouts.

You'd be good at Request. It's very nice that you can do most basic sets. Just be sure that they're not the source of your knee pain. I have tried Fairy and Quantum in the past, and they feel like they can fuck you up if you don't do them with a proper form.
I can't see anything wrong with yours, though. But if your knees hurt from certain tricks, it's good to change the movement a bit. The range of motion for good form is usually surprisingly large, making it easier to find it. That unfortunately doesn't apply to all tricks. :)
I hate bad form and I'm a hypocrite.

Was too late at home yesterday so shifted job schedule a bit and had a training session in the morning.
Image

 lots of atw in > atw out bs
 24 clippers b2b
 near butterfly > osis > pdx mirage (rpt x2) from bs
 near butterfly > ducking clip > pdx mirage (rpt) > near butterfly > osis > pdx mirage (and all string as a repeat)
 near butterfly > op clip (rpt x3)

And some other stuff. Knees feel really sore so will rest till weekend.

Thank you :)

I also tried quantum set long ago (like 8 year ago), was able to hit quantum butterfly/mirrage/legover. But now i think that this set is out of my range. :)
