Balancing school and footbag is working alright. I find shredding a bit easier after a schoolday, than what it was after a physical workday.

Talent
I had the Finnish Talent semifinals two weeks ago. I did not advance to finals. People voted the finalists. From ten competitors a 10 year old girl who sang, a dance group and a mime advanced to finals. I didn't do very well on the stage, had a few drops. My new demo bags looked great on TV though. I just hated it how it was filmed. All the time when I did something good the camera was on the judges or audience. When I juggled the view from from the ceiling, so you can't tell what I did on the stage, but all my drops were filmed up close. The camera work was just horrible. The ones who advanced were not really special, the little girl just got votes because she's cute, the dance group wasn't that special. I liked the mime though.
Anyhow the experienve was quite positive. The demobags were really visible and I got some stage experiense, which one can never have enough.

Anz Trikz
I'm still waiting Ianek to finish up with a project, so I can upload these videos. Grr.

Shred
I was playing with only the demo bags for a couple weeks. That was really interesting, because you really couldn't shred with them. Practicing basics felt really productive though, and I think it helped. I migth use them for practice in the future as well.
I've been playing with a regular bag for almost two weeks now. Getting used to it again took a few sessions, which was surprising. I've hit some new stuff though, mostly 3dex combos, which is always nice. Whirring Swirl x2 , Triage > DOD Swirl > Triple Pickup > Paradon Swirl , Nem > Jani > Jani > Nem for example. (See the 3dex combos in Shred Symposium)
I've been trying Triple Whirl too, it's quite challenging. It's first new trick for a while for me that I'm not totaly sure how should I do it. The only video I've seen of it is Norek's and his last dex is more like a Mirage and it's not clean. The way Vasek, Felix and Lauri did it is last dex Whirl, but I've never seen any of them hit it. The actual difference is how do you use your knee. If you have your knee down on the first dex tehn it's up on the last and it's more a Mirage than Whirl - easier to the. If the knee is up with the first dex and down with last it starts of more barraging-like and the last dex is a real Whirl. I've been trying to make the last dex a Whirl, because that how I would define it as Triple Whirl.
I wouldn't say I'm really close yet, but the dexes are there sometimes. They just feel awkward and not really economical yet. Plus I sometimes miss the second dex or concentrate on the dexes too much to actually stall the bag. It will come when muscles get used to the motion. Hopefully in January?

Video
I've been thinking about making videos with short but intense combos. For example some of what I hit recently. I have sort of a 3dex phase going on, so stuff like Triage > DOD Swirl > Tri-up > Paradon Swirl. I made a short list of possible stuff what I could film, but then I thought I should ask people for suggestions. If there's anything you think I could hit or would want to see in a video, post here or PM me. Preferably something with a lot of dexes :) A link, drill or a short combo. Something like
-Blurriest > Whirring Swirl > rpt
-Nemesis > Nemesis
-Barfly Swirl > Fog > Fusion > Superfly > Barroque
but those were just examples. If you want to just toss out some ideas I can work with them.
I won't film before outdoor season anyway. But now I got time to try stuff out.

YES.
YES, post some videos of you!
YES post some videos of crazy combos!
YES post vids of high-dex combos
YES to all of the above combos
YES to more crazy shit from anz.

Other ideas? break the unique triple dex record and film it
hit sick shit and film that too
hit triple whirl attempts
beat some video records for Jeremy's list (maybe triple dex or HINT quad dex ones in particular).

Seeing the number of views your videos get, I'm guessing a lot of modifiers will say: YES ANZ, FILM STUFF AND POST IT!

Cheers!

New year 2010!

I kept book of my footbagging during the whole 2009, counting all my solo training sessions.
Jan: 8
Feb: 15
Mar: 15
Apr: 16
May: 21
Jun: 15
Jul: 9
Aug: 5
Sep: 13
Oct: 16
Nov: 16
Dec: 16
total: 165

I did not count how many circle session I had. Total amount of sessions is somewhere close to 200 maybe.

Last year there was way too many videos of me. Need to consider the videos I'm going to publish this year. New tutorials for sure though.

Not much goals for this year nor this decade. I probably won't be blogging anymore because I don't really have much to write about. The last three-or-so pages of this blog contain what I wanted to write.

See you.
