Good group session today. Too bad I'm exhausted from working 10pm till 7am or later the past 5 days, with 5 days in a row to go. Then a four day weekend. Can't wait for that, probably go up to uconn to party and kick with Jon.

Also, I got in a car accident with some woman who didnt have insurance. My neck was hurting for a bit but now it's straight. Car is semi-fixed, looks like shit with a bungee cord holding the trunk shut but it's drivable. Gotta sue that bitch!

Anyway, today was fun. Played a couple games of 4 square for the first time and everyone enjoyed that. Atomic set fake outs are sweet. Probably gonna be our cool down thing to do from now on.

I didn't do anything today new or record-wise, just did all the usual crap. No luck with flip clippers, though my strong ones are looking even better than usual; froze five in a row. Gonna try staying on my toes more often for some extra bounce.

The rest of the guys were looking better. Dillon hit maaad alternating inside kicks, told him he should try inside delays. Taylor footed like 5 legovers, he's very close to hitting them. He also hit a mirage out of a clipper. His flip clipper isn't too far behind his strong which is great. Ahem, unlike mine... :(

Alright well I'm gonna grab some dinner, shower, and then head to horrible work once again. Gonna be a good paycheck this week. Good enough to buy some new LAAAAVERS so I can stop fucking my body up with the shits I kick in now. :)

One of my best sessions EVER

Post by Tim » 12 Sep 2007 13:51

Alright, well this morning I got out of work at 6am, decided to not go home because it was beautiful out and play some footbag. Ended up kicking by myself from 7am to 10am. Was supposed to kick with everyone else like 10 minutes ago but they all left to go see some girls fight each other. Stupid ass kids. :?

Well this MORNING was awesome. I should do this more often. Did some toe kicks, which are looking a lot better and just once in a while get away from me, to warm up. Some stretching, and then did some runs.

What I accomplished:

toe set > mirage > legover > mirage > legover > ss mirage > ss mirage > pick up > pickup (starting from both sides mad times, want to go to clippers after the pickups)
Six really clean consecutive flip clippers -I'm finally starting to see an improvement. 10 in a row very shortly.

My illusions looked great today so I hit:
Mirage > Illusion > Legover > Mirage > Illusion > Legover > seal -lots of times, probaby should just try to keep repeating
hit 2 consecutive illusions both sides

Then I tried some symposium mirages and hit
:!: Flip symp mirage for the first time!!! (these felt great)
Footed 3 consecutive strong side ones twice
And I was VERY excited to hit in a combo
Legover > mirage > illusion > symp mirage > legover > mirage > illusion > drop on symp mirage (will hit this next time!)

Now in the realm of 3 add moves that I sometimes I do I had a huge accomlishment...
:!: PDX ILLUSION! (like five times too)
Haha and one of those times was in this sick three (aka what I would enter if the comp was due today)
Clip set > ss butterfly > pdx illusion > op osis > catch

I only slept for 3 hours after that and I got work again at 10 tonight. Probably wont kick again till Friday. Also, that's pay day so I'll be ordering some new lavers, most likely blue and white again.

Adios!

haha I did it again. Got out of work at 6am and went straight to hacking for an hour and a half. Actually I fell asleep in my car for like half an hour, woke up, and had no clue where I was. So I'm not too tired right now.

Anyway another good but short session.

Hit a couple more flip symp mirages.
Tried some wrap a rounds with my inside or whatever they're called, I think it's helping a lot. Also, I found out my shoes, well my fucked up left shoe, is pretty detrimental to my left clippers. My toes come out of the shoe so I can't raise my toe at all. Ordering shoes tomorrow as soon as I get my check!!! Still I was able to hit:

Flip Clip > Far Legover (first time!)
Flip Clip > Mirage
Flip Clip > Pdx Mirage
Flip Clip > Near Pickup (first time and was mint!)

I also had a great little run.

mir > legover > mir > legover > ss mir > ss mir > illusion > pickup > illusion > pickup > same clip > mirage > op (FLIP) clip > dropped on mirage

13 moves is pretty awesome for me. I do believe that's my record.

Probably will kick tomorrow.

ADIOS!

Dude! Way to be. Glad to see you are serious about skoolin' that flip clip.

13 tiltless is r0x0r!! Not only that it's 13 UNIQUE tiltless (using opposite sides counts for uniques). So serious props on that. Keep it up. A lot of newbs just skip that kind of stuff and do stuff like hit ripwalk one side but have trouble with 5 tiltless. So good job on not falling into that trap. Keep up the schoolin' on all those moves both sides. That is SHREDDING 8)

Challenges I know you can hit:
 Mirage > Legover > RPT for 20 contacts
 Legover x 20
 Mirage x 3 > Legover x 3 > RPT
 Clipper x 3 > Pickup > Mirage x 2 > RPT

If you have a camera, make a video one of these days :)

yo! Thanks Ben for reading this shit, it means a lot that someone is keeping up with my accomplishments in the realm of footbag. Yes I will definitely make a video, was actually thinking about doing one on like Monday since I have it off from work.

I will definitely ATTEMPT those challenges when I kick tomorrow. They seem very possible. For that last one I'm guessing you want me to swtich sides when I repeat so..
clip X 3 > near pick up > mirage > mirage > op clipper. Yikes that's gonna be difficult but I'll try it. I could actually vid the first three for ya and just put them in the video cuz I don't know what else I would do!

Well I'm writing this as I just woke up from working the final night of 10 nights in a row. Now I don't have to work till Tuesday night :D

AKA this weekend I plan on getting a bit rowdy and having a really long session on saturday if I'm not too hungover.

I also got paid this morning so now it's time to pay my 200 dollar cell phone UGH, and get some new lavers. Bling bling!

Alright, I'm about to head to work so I'll keep this short.

I did Mirage > Legover for 29 contacts
Couldnt hit the 20 consec legovers, 15 was my max and I hit 12 or 13 about 7 times. Pissed that I still crouch when I do those.

Ordered some lavers, should be here by Thursday and that's when I'll hack next. I hate my current lavers, they are worn in hardcore but my feet feel fucked up from wearing them. Especially, my left foot which has the huge hole in it.

Oh, lets see what the rest of the guys are doing. Dillon is still trying mirages and clippers. He gets a good clipper once in a while but his mirages are still bad. He can't seem to get it in his head to raise his foot off the ground at the end, but he has the motion right. Taylor hit clipper > mirage a couple times last time we kicked and also likes doing butterflys but I told him to chilllll out and do his flip clippers.

New York City tournament November 10th! I'll be there!!!

Adios for now.

God I love Lavers.

Got my new pair in yesterday, cut the toe box and laced it up nice. Gonna wait a bit to remove any of the canvas I think. They feel so amazing and secure to my feet. Also, going to hit up the local sports store to check prices on some Spenco insoles. Gotta search the boards and see what specific one work the best.

Just went to Wal-mart with my friend and kicked for like 10 minutes while he was inside. I felt great with everything, well not really the flip clippers but I didn't screw around with those while I got people to please haha. Some old woman was like, "Oh I see how you stay so skinny!". Did a run of at least 10 contacts, don't even know what I was hitting but I felt AMAZING.

Work tonight so I dont want to exhaust myself but biiiiiiiiiiiiig session tomorrow. At least three hours unless something unexpected happens. *fingers crossed*

Oh, I just remembered I had a dream where Tina Lewis was my manager. I was like, "Why didn't you tell me?" She was like, "I thought you knew!"

Weird!

Love

How the fuck am I supposed to kick when it's freezing out!?!?!?!?!!?

Looks like I need to pull out the long-johns.

Thought I had nothing to update BUT I just remembered...

Shelton (my town) had it's annual Shelton Day last week when it was actually hot outside. A bunch of booths from all different organizations set up and food and blah blah blah, the usual stuff. But I ended up kicking for 2 hours by myself to the side. Some woman asked me to put on a show for her little kids and I complied. A lot of comments like "Wow, you're amazing" make ya feel gooooood  I even got a free drink from a woman who said I looked hot.

I was sweating quite a deal but maybe she was hitting on me hmmmmmm haha

I need to kick today or tomorrow. I'll update when I do.

Holler!

Oh yeah, now I'm feeling it!

Managed to get my ass to the first annual footbag symposium in new york city this past saturday. I had an AMAZING time and I forgot how much I enjoy footbag! I watched most of the actual competition but I just really wanted to keep kicking. Mostly kicked with that long hair Kyle guy (don't know his last name!) who is a very very chill dude. I was in a circle with Digges for a little bit and had me in awe with everything he did. First time I saw someone do a TATW up close and personal. Everyone was super nice (as usual) and it was a damn good experience for my second footbag tournament. Didn't go to the after dinner/party because New York was starting to get on my nerves, the mass amount of people boggles my mind. BUT, I definitely will kick with the NYFA again in the near future.

In other news I managed to get some footbag in today after work. Worked on my flip clipper and my inside stalls. Managed to mirage out of weak clipper numerous times and also hit a same side butterfly on my weak clipper for the first time ever :!: (I think)

 I think I can improve the way I do my clippers. When I do them, I just rely on my support leg for the cushioning and hardly EVER move the actually clipping leg!!! I have to use both of them together god dammit!

ALSO, in the world outside of footbag but kinda relating to it...I might have found a sweet ass apartment. With a porch and attic for a damn good price. Kitchen is definitely large enough to shred in too!

Work all day tomorrow, footbag hopefully thursday! Until then...

Damn, it's almost been a month since my last post!

So I moved into my new house and have been shredding consistently. The weak clippers are looking so much better. Not really better at consecutive ones but from weak clipper I can hit legover, far legover, pickup, far pickup, mirage, and paradox mirage.

And 2 minutes ago I finally hit THIS

 weak clip > mirage > mirage > strong clip > mirage > mirage > weak clip > pdx mirage > mirage > strong clip > pdx mirage > mirage.

I also hit a couple of reaaally smooth DLOs today on my strong side, think I could hit one on my flipside soon. Also, I hit a ducking mirage from toe set for the first time both sides.

But I am now going to kick any chance I get

Hope everyone is good!

Thanks dude, I need to hit that shit again so eventually I can do it everyday and make it a drill to start each session off with!

It's almost the end of the year which is pretty much insane. That video is on it's way. I'm a hair away from hitting DATW from a toe set (out to in). Even though I really can't do either, my left foot is better at pixies and my right foot is better at fairies. So also in a week I plan to hit PLO with my left foot and FEAR (fairy mirage...what a cool name though) with my right. All three will be on that video (I hope hahaha).

Now that my flip clipper is looking better I'm using it more often (duh!). I even tried pdx whirl today from my flip clipper. While I did get close I also smashed my arm on the chandelier ;-)

Here's all the moves I can hit from a CLIPPER SET. (I'm gonna do them right now actually just to make sure I can do them!)
Mirage - Bothsides.
Legover - Bothsides (from flip clip is easier when I set well)
Pickup - Bothsides.
Far Legover - Bothsides (siiick ones from strong clip!)
Far Pickup - Wow, flip is reaaally hard....

Break for a second. NICE. Just hit strong clip > flip clip > strong clip X 2 > flip clip X 2 > strong clip x 3 > and then drop on the second of 3 flip clips. I do believe thats my best yet on the triforce drill!

Alright lets try this again...

Far Pickup - BAM! Yes, bothsides finally!
Paradox Mirage - Bothsides. a whole lot easier than far pickup!
SS Butterfly - Bothsides baby!
Infinity - Holy shit both sides!
WHIRL - hahahaha, how the hell did I forget! I just tried to do a normal whirl and AGAIN smashed my hand on the chandelier! Shit!

Alright well it's 230 in the morning and I think that's a pretty good list. Now I need to start linking some moves. If you read this

PLEASE CHALLENGE ME with short links and cool moves. My flip clipper is getting better but its not anywhere near my strong one.

I'm dripping sweat, haven't been like this in a while. I freaking love it. Oh, and this is my first session with my new low profile insoles, so far they feel great. Kinda squishy haha.

ALSO I just now saw that Lon Smith Modest Mouse video. Fucking amazing! Immediately added it to my myspace.

Hmmm...I just hit a pixie legover...but without setting my pixie foot. Is that anything? Same side DLO? Eh eh?

New Years Resolutions/Goals.
1. Drink more water, eat more veggies.
2. Play more footbag, compete in a novice tournament by end of summer.
3. Give photography a shot. I'm getting a Nikon D40 this week. Baaaallin!
4. TRAVEL.
5. Get more involved with helping people out. Start to volunteer again.

These are good.

I'm going to go kick more until I pass out.

Happy New Years everyone!

Love Tim.

Here's some stuff i think is cool and do a lot.

Clipper > SS mirage > op clipper> ss mirage > rpt amap
mirage > ss downtime pixie(aka ss mirage) > mirage >ss downtime pixie > rpt
pdx mirage > pdx mirage ( after the first pdx mirage set it to clipepr poistion off your toe and hit pdx mirage again on the other side)

Thanks man! The other Ben had a challenge like this before but now I think Im better prepared for it.

WOW, I just realized how differet it feels to do the same clipper from your other toe. Like left foot to left foot clipper is easier than if I set it from rght foot, which what the mirage challenge calls for!

I'm gonna practice these today and tomorrow. Ill let you know how it turns out.

Oh, and once again...what does opposite clipper mean for real? I think Ive seen it both ways. From left toe delay to a clipper with my left foot (on my right side of my body)...is that same clipper? Right guys??? Or does same clipper mean same side??? Ugh!

I feel your pain with flips clipper. :D I used to hate mines, but now I´m starting to like it.

Anyways, here´s some challeges that I think you could try(helped me quite a bit):
-20 alternating clippers.
-pdx mirage>butterfly>rpt
-pdx mirage>ss butterfly>infinity>rpt
-clip set>ss butterfly>infinity>rpt
-clip set ducking clipper both sides. If you have hit it make it B2B.
-mirage>illusion>mirage>legover>pickup>legover>rpt

I´m sure you can hit all of those in some time. You seem to have the right mentality.

Ahhh Virppa, I don't think I'm ready to hit anything out of a butterfly yet buddy! I can easily do STRONG clip > ss butterfly > pdx mirage and maybe even flip CLIPPER to pdx mirage following it sometimes, but my weak butterfly is worse than my weak clips! But soon yes (a couple of months at max). Ps thank you for the compliment!

Let's try Benzilla's challenges...
(All results will be from my weak side first; I think thats best)
1. Clipper > SS mirage > op clipper> ss mirage > rpt amap
Holy shit! At first I kept dropping it soon after I went back to my weak clipper the second time but I just did 19 contacts of it!!! Sick! Wish I could have hit 20!
2. Mirage > ss mirage > mirage > ss mirage > rpt
I've done these before. Let's try them. Hmm...My body keeps wanting to do a ss mirage after every ss mirage. Alright sick! Just did a little over 20. I cant keep count because I need to pay attention to what I'm doing. Those are fun!
3. Pdx mirage > pdx mirage...
UGH. Alright, well I guess I should start off with weak pdx mirage first so I'm guaranteed 2 if I hit it. Woo I just did four pdx mirages b2b, definite record! I'm trying for five but it's not happening.

And how about I try that one challenge from ya Virppa that doesnt have any clippers in it.
1. mirage>illusion>mirage>legover>pickup>legover>rpt
I can definitely do this bothsides but again my body tells me to do a pickup when I want a legover! Here we go! Dammit, everytime I ace the first side of my body, my illusioning foot spikes it the second time around! Hell yeah baby just did 13 contacts of it! Now THATS a fun drill! Definite wll try to do it longer.

I'm gonna go kick some more but I just want to submit this post before my computer does something assholish and restarts on me.

Keep the challenges coming guys! I'm thinking about writing something down that just uses flip clippers. Flip clip > mirage > flip clip > legover > etc. You know, junk like that!

Man, I wish I had some local players to kick with  [/b] Ben B, definitely keep my informed when new memebers sign up for CT!

Great, you nailed one already!

I actually gave a petname to that drill (toe hell) because it haves so many good toe components in it and when you start doing it you brains often freeze. If you want you can replace second mirage with ss clipper>pdx mirage and thus make it harder, or replace second legover with opp clip>far legover and train those clippers on the same drill. Or add both if you really like challenges. ;)
