Okay so things were now wrapping up. I bought a bag from Matt Cross, which was sweet. We all soon headed to the restaraunt, Josie's. We walk in the door and some guy asks if everyone is 21, and in my head I tell myself that this is quite the predicament. Luckily, Barrett had previously spoken with the manager or someone like that of the pub and we were all good.
Everyone sat down at tables. I ended up with my brother Ed, my friend Tony, a Mike, a Tim, Anita, and Jorden! I didn't do too much talking. I was just enjoying the experience as a whole. Everyone was really cool. I can't believe I was so fortunate to get at a table like that. So eventually, me, my brother, and Tony all left to take the train home. Sleep blah blah blah.
So sunday morning we (minus tony) get up to return to nyc. Of course, we miss the train by seconds...again. So we wait, blah blah blah. After such and such we arrive in nyc. We take a cab to Union Square. People are playing and such. And oddly enough, there's a ping pong event going on right next to us. Pete Bowler starts to warm up and shred and Matt Cross provides backround music with his guitar. Eventually circles form and I eventually join one with Pete Bowler, Taylor, the Dave from the day before, and one more whos name never made it to my ear. I did crappy for the most part.
Matt Cross leaves his circle and asks for two from our circle so me and Dave go. This circle was awesome. I love both Dave's and Matt's style. Dave's is so cool with all of the flying/kicking moves instead of all stalls. And Matt Cross is Matt Cross, his style is just cool looking. Its along the lines of how I want to look in due time (with my own additions of course).
After purchasing some very rad shorts, Waylon came over and shredded with us. This was yet again, awesome. Playing with such well known people was like a dream come true. Waylon's bounciness was really cool and I loved the way his magellans looked.
I played better since I was warmed up and I was happy with my game. I was able to do more rakes instead of just kind of forgetting about it in my head. And I felt like I had to make or utilize my own style since I was playing with people of such unique styles. I hit a couple ducking mirages including a first try flipside one. When I tried my flip symp mirages, which involved bad ankle, I hit like all of them to my surprise. As the storm was approaching I hit ducking symp mirage second try and was also happy about that.
Alas, the bad weather rolled in and we had to prematurely pack it up. I was bummed about this since I missed all of the competition and such the day before, but oh well, I'll happily take what I can get. I said bye to a couple people and Waylon caught me to say bye as I was leaving. He said nice things about this being my first footbag event and such, so it was nice words to end off with. I met up with my brother at the museum of natural history and that is that.
