Just got home from the annual trip to Roskilde Festival with the danish footbag crew.
It was close to not happening but finally it all came together.
Mads Hole ended getting a job doing some video for a restaurant there. Lise build a stage and Jacob Dahlstrup did some drawings with MOHS Gallery. This kid is getting all kinds of famous. Well deserved!
Other than them we where Nis Petersen, Mathias Blau, Kim Mortensen, Anne Thygesen, Michael Nielsen, Nikolai Lorenzen and last but not least Rasmus Rendsvig.
First I wanna give a big shout out to the danish crew, we are all so different and still so alike. You are all some of my best friends. Lots of love.
As usually I played like shit but had a lot of fun.
Mathias Blau played really well. And I wish him and Nis good luck competing in Finland.
Mads Hole is also going for your information.

My favorite concert was by LAs very own Gaslamp Killer. I knew him a little from a single mix I've heard and from his coproduction on Flying Lotus' amazing album Los Angeles.
The concert was this amazing mix of hiphop accapellas, beats, japanese psychedelic music and a lot of beatles all with hard dupstep-beats keeping it together. He is also this crazy moustache, mescaline longhair weirdo that is awesome to watch do his thing.
You can see him do his thing here:

Other notable concerts where OFWGKTA which I think you all know by now and Munchi who I have been talking about a lot on this blog.

I got a couple of cell phone photos from the festival on facebook here.

Overall it was a fantastic 9(!) days of partying with some of the best people in the world!

You guys going to any festivals this year? What are you looking forward to hear?

You are more than welcome Verena. Would have been cool to have you there.

Just had a good solo session.

Nis let me have his old shoes, so now I have shoes that actually fits. Awesome!

Even had some kinda highlights:
Flip DATW first try > 15 contacts or so
Ripwalk bs first try
Sidewalk bs first try

Mainly just tried to get some contacts in the legs and hit alot of different tricks both sides.

Here is one of my favorite footbag videos of all time.
From Roskilde a couple of years ago:

Only saw Milan fool around after a long session one day.
He got the tightest dexes I have ever seen.
Was cool to hang out with him a bit and I know he had a great time in Copenhagen.
He was talking about maybe staying for a month at some point.

Congratulations to Mathias Blau for getting a third place in his semifinal pool at Worlds.

Had a 1 hour+ session with Lise last week. First half hour was crazy hard, then it was fun.
Even got some highlights:
- Butterfly Zipper bs inspired by Milan
- Toe Blur bs
- Terrage bsos

Hoping to kick tomorrow.

EASYKINKI! Thank you good sire.

My name is Moose and sometimes when I get drunk I climb trees.

This is from an actual news story where a moose got so drunk from eating fermented apples that it thought it could climb trees.

Just finished a short session with Lise.
Cut it short because Lise overstretched something in her thigh and because we are both in the worst shape ever (I am atleast).
The highlights I got is ridicolous so I am not gonna write them down.
But it was nice to break a sweat and touch the old hacky bag.
Hope to play one more time this week.

Here are some youtube videos I've been diggin lately:

Danish Champs Part 1: Introduction

I look forward to it, gonna be good to see everybody - hang out, shoot the shit, kick around the old beanbag.
Also heard rumours that a few Berliners is gonna make an appearance.

On the other hand I feel a bit strange about it - Haven't played at all and I am going to suck so hard.
Still gonna compete, gotta support ye ole community.
Really hope this can give me the spark back. I still like you footbag I still feel and think like a footbagger.

Life is pretty good, don't have a job, don't have any money but working on a few cool projects and trying to enjoy life as a much as possible.

It's all about staying positive.

Gonna update about the getdown during the weekend. Maybe even snatch a couple of shitty photos on my cell.

Some pics as always:

Part 2: Danish Champs Day 1

I showed up at the infamous Østre Farimagsgade Skole known for countless videos, including videos with Felix, Vasek, Ryan etc.

It was only Nis Petersen and Jacob Dahlstrup there, so we drank some coffee and shortly after Rasmus Rendsvig arrived.
He had just turned in his final thesis. Congratulations.
We played some dodgeball and fooled around in the gym.
Verena Lenneis and Paul Santner then arrived.
We got some beers got into some pingpong action and catched up.
Image

I felt like playing so got in my gear and Spoon also put on his Lavers.
We mainly did requests from the others. Felt good to play.
I hit Enterrage first try barefeet after playing.
Mads Neuhard came by and hung out for a little bit.
Nis, Rasmus and me where the final ones leaving.
Nis drove me home in a girly car he had borrowed.
There where actually plans of a premiere of Mads Hole but he never showed so I guess that will be today.
Mathias Blau is flying in today, no Berliners will actually make it.

Part 3: Danish Champs Day 2 - The beginning

Competition day! Routines, shred30, big1-3, request..
Expectations? To completely suck. I think I can win big1 if I hit something and my goal in routines is not to be last, but I probably will.

Here is my routine song:

Part 5: Danish Champs Day 2 - 3
or I know there is no greater feeling than the love of family

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxZrmQFmF-4

So what went down?

I completely sucked in competition. Failed a combo in request that was made for me.
Got 12 drops in routine and didn't hit a sick3 or sick1. Well, that was kinda expected.
Only 4 people competed in routines:
4. Me
3. Lise
2. Nis
1. Mathias

For the past 4 years it has been the same top3, Nis and Lise switched places this year so big congratulations to Nis for that.
KONGENS DM!

Here is Mathias' routine:

Nis won sick1 with Barfly Swirl. Mathias won everything else most notable shred30 with a score of 210.
First time a dane has broken the 200 barrier. He also did 35(!) tricks in his shred30.

Mads Hole showed some really nice videos. A new production and some old secret footage from euros2004.

We ate some amazing pizza saturday. Me and Nis even had to get a second round on sunday.

Lise resigned as chairman of the board, Mads Neuhard resigned completely.
Nis is the new chairman and I am the new member of the board.

The weekend ended with me and Nis drinking beers and hanging out with Mads Hole at the legendary footbag bar Bankeråt.

Me and Nis are planning on going to FC Footstars birthday in january. I hope it will happen!

Overall it was a great weekend and as Verena said in her blog it feels more like a really fun family reunion than a tournament.

I like that.

I feel you Ken. I also think Mathias could if he planned and practiced a shred30 win Shred30 at worlds.
Guy is probably able to do 40 tricks in 30 seconds.

Image

I did 6 footbag shows or something like that at a school today. Together with Rasmus Rendsvig and Mads Hole.
First 5 minutes Mads would tell a little about footbag and me and Rasmus would do some kicks, stalls and tricks.
And then the kids would get bags and we would do some workshop for 20 minutes or so.
It was alot of fun to see how the different ages acted and played differently (from 10-16) and I actually think they got a lot out of it.
Also I was happy not to drop a single DATW or Far Symp Rev. Whirl in our shows. Also it was really nice just to kick the little bag around again.

Tomorrow Nis, Mads and Rasmus are doing it, but I think I will join anyways because I enjoyed it so much.

Here is something I found funny:
