Well brother, I've been way down and way up. Could have gone sky-high but I made a mistake or two along the way. Haven't played too much lately, but I've got shoes coming in the next couple days, and I plan on diving in full speed from here. I live in Boulder, CO I'm going to school here and working on and off for the Environmental Defense Action Fund. Maybe I'll swing through Reno next time I'm headed to California.

Yea, I feel ya on the ups and downs. How often do you go to California?

Sessioned today after my hangover had passed with my new MC bag. I can already tell that I will most likely be a proud buyer over and over from Mr. Cross. It was playable right away, only a little rolly on osises.

No exciting highlights, took it kind of easy today due to my ankle being hurt from overworking it a few days ago. Focused mostly on drifter and egg stuff.

Flip egg x2 > strong pigbeater

Drifter x 15, I am starting to get the hang of these.

Pixie ss drifter> osis > stepping legover rpt.

Having to work at 6am and be a full time student afterwords can be quite hectic and stressful at times. My day to day pattern never changes; from work straight to school then homework and studying to footbag. As it is right now, footbag is my only means of reducing stress, however the way I drill and play towards my goal can also bring stress. This is no bueno, and often makes me feel that my day was not fulfilling if footbag adds to the stress. Today was one of these days.

Had a rather good session today, until the end when I drilled nothing but flip barfly, which I have not hit before. I hit 2 today, out of about 45 minutes and some 150+ attempts (stress). By the end of the week I hope to be hitting anywhere from 4 to 6 out of 10. My form will hopefully improve and I will be able to control what I am doing. My left leg seems to be stuck in neanderthal times as far as its learning curve. (Trying to keep somewhat of a positive outlook)

Some other highlights today include:

Run with gyro dlo and pdx dlo bsos, I learned to do the gyro dlo as if i were going for surging set, this makes gyro dlo's significantly easier.

flip barfly x2, not sure whether to be proud of this or not

spinning legover > pixie paradon rpt

food > hand catch 1st try bs

atomic illusion > quantum illusion, almost bs, footed it on other side

dlo > dod rpt
dlo > pixie dod rpt both based off Jeremy's challenge of haze > pixie dod rpt

Took a day off from playing yesterday because I discovered the boxing club here at UNR is free, and a good friend of mine in vegas who is UNR's best produced boxer teaches there. The past 2 days I have gone from 4-6 to train, and it is much harder than muay thai ever was for me. Today I had enough energy to have an hour long session.

I continued to drill my flip DoD and barfly. I found out that my set was bad for my flip dod, and timing wrong. I fixed these then moved on to barfly. Plenty of misses till I talked to Jay and he mentioned momentum, because I was having an easier time with pixie paradon and blurriest on my flip side. I then put the same effort into the barfly as I did with those tricks and Wahlah! Also a bit of swirl drilling.

Handful of flip barflies
Barfly to barfly
Blurriest first try bs > hand catch, felt so smooth
swirls are existant.

Too tired to continue today, but as soon as I fall into a schedule with this boxing thing I will get back into my old groove.

First session without being sore from boxing, and I played very well.

My flip barfly, dod and blurriest are becoming stronger and stronger.

Did ianeks drills of toe drifter > stepping ss mirage rpt and
gyro mirage > dod > pdx whirl rpt.

worked on a lot of stepping stuff mixing spinning and gyro legovers in.

Blurriest > blurriest after a handful of ripwalks

spinning pdx drifter

bunch of long balanced runs.

I am very happy with how I played today, now I must repeat this daily after boxing :D

Getting back into training (boxing in this case), has awarded me with much more energy in my shred, however my sessions are shorter because I am sore and it is hard to do 2+ hour sessions after boxing for 2 hours.

Some highlights from today include:

pixie ss clip > spinning legover > pixie ss clip > gyro legover rpt.

toe drifter > gyro legover rpt

Shmo > PLO > parkwalk > rpt - 38 contacts

atom x 3 > legbeater > blur > atom > legbeater > blur > atom > toe whirl > pdx whirl > blurry whirl

Ripped warrior!!! hit it twice, only on one side though, need to flip this.

I currently weight 184, I need to drop to 170-175. Any suggestions on not so hard to do diets? I love food.

Played tonight, for the first real session a while, and I am quite thrilled with my game. It feels great to have fresh legs, which I havent let happen for a while, however, with boxing and all, I am able to take time off footbag and still stay in good shape. I do play for about a half hour after training mon-fri but nothing excessive because I am completely worn out from the gym.

Mostly shred tonight. Lot of dlo stuff and drifter stuff.

Pdx dlo > pixie dlo bs.
I pick a different 5add for each run and try and hit it towards the middle-end of my runs, and I have surprised myself by hitting most of them and not wasting much energy at all.

Next real session I'll have more detailed highlights. A month and a half till boise :D

I just had to dig this footblog up from the 3rd page.. it has been too long.

I had an amazing time at worlds. I didnt play as much as I would have liked too because my body wasn't used to it after not having played for a while.

Having said that, I am now back to playing atleast 4 times a week.

After worlds Szymon, Damian and Hania came to stay at my house in vegas. The first night we went to a kick back at Evan's place and we taught them some fun American drinking games. The next day we woke up early and took the boat and jet skis out to the lake. It was amazing. We went cliff jumping, rode the jet skis by the hoover damn and went tubing; all things that they had never either seen or done before. We sessioned for a little bit and then went to the strip and gambled a bit that night and Szymon, Evan and I won some good money.

The third day we went and hiked around red rock, which although we got lost and never made it to our destination, was still fun. Later that night Evan, Evan's brother Johnathan, Szymon and I went to the casino again, and I won a decent amount on the blackjack table. I drove them to the airport the next morning. Shoutout to Szymon, Hania and Damian for the fun time, can't wait to make it to Poland.

Evan and I sessioned the night after they left, and we both had a pretty good session. I can't quite remember what I hit, I was mostly just drilling, but I can definitely feel my body getting back into the game.

Yesterday I woke up and had a session with Ben and Evan before driving back to Reno for school. Good session all around. Said my goodbyes and made the quite aweful pedantic drive back through the desert to Reno.

I will try to keep current with my footblog. Maybe will have a short session tonight, however I am tired from floating the river :\

Lately I have discovered a few things about footbag.

Jorden helped me with my posture. I have observed it in shred at worlds, and keep a conscious understanding of it when I shred. It had helped a ton.

Two other things I have noticed is that I must keep my hips flexible and rotate them for so many tricks. When I do this, everything that requires movement of the hips separate from the torso seems much easier.

Lastly I found that for tricks like spinning whirl, scorpions tail, marius, mobius, and pretty much anything that requires some spinning must be led from the shoulders first. I have been spinning with my body as one, rather than separating my torso from my hips through the use of my shoulders.

Correct me if I am wrong on any of this, and provide any knowledge you may have please.

I really should right my highlights from each session down because I think I have been hitting some pretty cool stuff in runs. I am becoming more consistent when I really focus.
