Haha thanks Brian.

Well................

Um....

I'm back?

...Again?

Hopefully??

I've been paying full attention to my form and shit and other shit. My club says that my form has improved a bunch and I'm hitting things that I couldn't hit before when I had terrible form.. I think it's because staying on my toes helps me hit tricks more easily. Anyway, yeah, bunch of new improvements with form.. Tippy toe shredding, lighter landings, softer butterflies, smoother pdx mirages, no rocking back on my heel with osii, et cetera.

Stuff I've been working on:

-Tippy toe tiltless
-Toe Far Swirl
-Swirl
-Rev Swirl
-Toe Spins
-Inspins
-PIXIES (still hate them)
-Butterfly
-Osis
-Pdx Mirage
-Weird stuff

..All with good form.

I plan on being AWESOME at Pixies and Toe Far Swirls by the end of my spring break.

I'll also be filming with Jackson at some point. He's been practicing a lot and not telling me to surprise me.

So I guess be looking out for that.

Also come to PSU Jampionships April 19-21!

That

is

all.

Yo errbuddy..

I'm pretty much back where I left off, sort of, minus the bad form atomic sets that got me hurt. I have a new series of drills I've been hitting constantly, so that has been my new technique to get gooder at footbagz. Also my Pixies are at an all time high, ever since Nate helped me figure them out. Hit some dope trash recently, here it is..

Highlights:

DRILLS:

 A year ago, Flash gave me a drill to hit that would help me get better at clouds, I hit it finally, from both sides.. Cloud kick> op Squeeze> Symp Swirl rpt BOOM. Got dat.
 Pdx Mirage> Toe Spinning Clipper rpt
 Blink> Magellan> Pixie clipper rpt
 Smear> Magellan> PLO rpt
 Pixie ss Clipper> Stepping ss Mirage rpt
 Toe Far Muted Swirl> Pdx Mirage rpt
 Cloud kick> ss Legover> Xbd Rake> Butterfly rpt
 Toe Far Muted Swirl> Blink rpt
 Torque> Butterfly rpt
 Pdx Blender> Butterfly rpt
 Symp Swirl> Blender rpt

NEW TRICKS (not really working on these, just experimenting):

 Anoxia (Spinning PS Mirage) (new 6 add)
 Fairy Gyro Blender (new 6 add)
 Flip Torus
 Flip Porque
 Pixie Blender (strong side)> hand catch> Pixie Blender (weak side)> hand catch (first time hitting this on either side, madd stoked it was so easy)
 Far Symple Whirling Frigidosis (Hardest 2 add ever)
 Flip Blazing Butter

Also I developed a new hobby (well, expanded an old one I guess).. Carnivorous plants. I now have a giant Pitcher Plant and 4 Venus Fly Traps. I just ordered 2 Sundews, and a purple/red cultivar of Venus Fly Trap, which should be arriving this week. Oh and Nathan ordered a Pitcher Plant too, so our apartment is going to have some gnarly additions very soon.

In other dope news, Boatz is staying with us next week since he'll be on spring break and Corey Hahalis might be crashing with us this week for his spring break. It feels awesome having people wanting to come visit us on their spring breaks. Got lots of fun shit planned in the weeks to come with our visitors!

My shins feel good too, which is probably my favorite highlight :)

Oh also, if you're ever in an experimental mood, eat some food in a dark room. I ate some hot dogs today in the dark and it was a life-changing experience. Seriously try it, it's fantastic.

really liking the toe muted swirl>blink drill and all the toe spinning stuff, sounds like your making pretty incredible progress bud, you should really try to come out to boston when the k-crow does i think we'll have an awesome time.

stupid challenge mostly for my entertainment: stepping ducking calf bump>spinning anything :!:

Ken, Toebius is one reason I wanted to get good at toe spins lol I haven't hit any of them... But soon hopefully. Not really trying to go for big tricks right away anymore. That was old stupid Nick's job to ADD hunt and try to hit big stupid things that he had no business hitting, Now I'm new-smart-hopefullywontgetinjuredagain Nick, and I just wanna go after smaller, non-5 ADD links that will actually benefit my game in the long run (with a few exceptions, like Anoxia). And thanks for the props man.

Kevin, thanks for the words and I'm definitely gonna try to come to Boston again. Toolan said he could gimme a ride so I'm gonna take him up on that. No dead rats this time, please :P Also, I dig the challenge link. Fuck yeah I'll try something.

Got some new stuff in VIDEO FORM today!!!

I also hit Cloud kick> blender bs off camera today.

Nice work Nick,

I really appreciate the nice work you've done there. I won't be able to attend the Jampionships, so unfortunately we won't be eating any hot dogs in the dark together. Nonetheless, have a great time. Here are some quick cuts for you to chew on..

Yo Flash! I can't believe this guy posted in my blog! Thanks man! I fan-boy'd pretty hard about that. Had to show my girlfriend and stuff :P but anyway, awesome video, I was totally inspired by it today. Hit some new stuff from it...

So I pretty much played all day lol

Highlights:

 Matt Cross told me to hit Whipping set. I tried for a while and couldnt get it, then finally hit whipping butterfly (Whipwalk) on strong side. Flip is super hard, but i'm gonna keep trying for it.
 So many awesome runs with dope Flash-like stuff in them. Cloud> ss Legover got really easy which is nice.
 I saw Flash do a hip bump in an early Funtastiks jam.. so I hit this... Hip bump> ss Legover. Pretty sylish, but kinda hard, gonna work on them.
 Blazing Butterfly BSOS! So stoked on that!
 Mothafuckin' Whirr!!!! 2nd time I ever hit it.
 Nice requested run (from my girlfriend, Nadiah) (Strong) Atomsmasher> Eggbeater> run> Rev Swirl Bsos> stuffz> Twirl> more stuffz> drop on flip Twirl. I got Atom> Egg on flipside too another time.
 Bev-Clickity Op Legover BSOS! Super stoked on that.
 This is the thing I got from Bevier's video... Cloud delay> Symp Swirl BSOS... I've done pincher> ss symp swirl before, but never that sylee cloud delay.
 Lots of great toe spin runs with lots of rakes
 Blazing op Legover BSOS
 Nadiah and I were discussing Venus Fly Traps and these Video Field Trips she has to do for her major, and I told her that VFT is a common abbrev for both... then she said "Oh, I thought you were gonna say Vortex> Flapper> Torque" I was thoroughly impressed by this... so I told her I'd hit it for her and I got it after a few tries.
 Really clean Swirling Gyro Mirage, almost bsos
 FUN

Also had a new guy come to the sesh that I met at a spiritual class last month and he was killer good for a hacky sacker. He was able to hit toe spinning toe, Mirage x4, squeeze, Clipper bsos, and some other crazy stuff you wouldnt expect a first-timer to hit. i was floored. He's going to be joining us from now on he said. So +1 for PSU Footbag Club

Nadiah kicked with us again tonight too and she got much more fluent with b2b toe stalls and she also learned Walkover bs and Rev Walkover bs. She even hit Clipper> Dragon and footed toe spinning toe. Floored again.

Ivan was hitting gnarly amounts of DLOs and Eggs, Omeletes and he even footed Chainsaw.

Nate hit his first 4 dex! Shooting Double Down!

Ryan hit his 3rd Guiltless link, Osis> Osis!

Khoa hit DATW, Cloud kick> ss Clipper, and some crazy Eclipse runs.

Our club has been ripping major sheets of paper lately and to top it off, Boatz is coming to visit for a week tomorrow! PSU is the place to be.

Woke up early this morning and had to practice Whipping sets... Got a few good steps forward with them

Highlights:

 Flip Whipping ss toe Finally!
 Also hit strongside Whipping ss Legover
 Almost ducked one! I hope to have this eventually
 Whipping op Toe stall BSOS
 Cloud kick> Ducking Clipper BSOS

Flipside could get much better, not very gnarly yet.. going to be drilling these this week. I should also mention that I'm not doing Reverse Whirling sets.. it's Matt Cross's invention from years ago, Calf Bumping Pixie. Try them, they're a lot of fun!

Goal: BSOS Whipping Mirage

Boatz got here safely and we've been having a grand time! Had a big session today with about 8 members total. I hit some awesome stuff (some on video) tonight that I'm so happy with...

Highlights:

 Spender> hand catch> Spender (flip)
 Singularity> Pdx Blender (Dope)
 Flip Barfly! Finally! I've been terrible at this trick in general for years, so glad to finally get it on flip.
 Barfly BSOS! Thanks to Boatz's and Matt Cross's tips.
 BS Smear BSOS!
 Pixie Blender BSOS! On tape, so stoked on that... The video will show my excitement :P
 Pixie ss Blender bs (New on both)
 Fairy Blender bs (New on both)
 Pdx DLO> DLO bs

Really stoked on tonight's highlights, especially the Barfly BSOS and Pixie Blender BSOS.. Still can't believe I hit either of them. Pixie Blenders are so easy for me now and that makes me happy because it's a slick trick that I can slide into my game from now on and I rarely miss it. It just makes sense to my legs. Also came dreadfully close to Double Spinning Clipper BSOS. Apparently, my spins changed sides... fucking weak, but I'm gonna get my ex-strong side back up to par with my new strong side.

Legs need to heal for a day or 2 though. Definitely went a bit too hard tonight... Shins aren't in a lot of pain, just have to be more careful

Yo Kev, thanks a lot man! I love the Spike Hammer> Pixie Blender dude, I think I can get that one.. None of the others though haha I'll try it once my legs stop hurting. No shin splint pain though, just, "ow my legs hurt from playing for 5 hours" kinda pain.

So last night we had our last session with Boatz and PSU Footbag Club's very first "Wednesday Workshop" instructional class. How it works is, every Wednesday from 6-7pm we host a class for learning new footbag tricks. Student to teacher interaction, strictly teaching noobs how to do new tricks. It went really well! We had a few guys who don't normally come to sessions and they all learned something.

Khoa hit DLO from toe and from Clipper (Taught by me)

Ivan hit Whirl (Taught by Boatz)

Marc hit DLO from toe (Taught by Nate)

Ryan hit Stepping Legover (Taught by me)

Greg hit Osis bs (Taught by me)

It was an awesome learning environment.

Then we shredded..

Highlights:

 I hit my first 6>5 link ever on bs! Food Processor> Mobius bs!!!
 Fairy ss Blender bs (new on both)
 Flip Pixie muted Swirl!!! Finally! Brand new on flip and been a long time coming
 Cleanest Whirr I've hit to date
 Pdx Mirage> Toe Muted Swirl rpt (Cleanest I've hit it)
 Toe Muted Swirl> Blur bs
 Flip Symp Whirling Swirl (2nd one hit)
 Flip Whirling Swirl (3rd one hit)
 Spinning Swirl on flipside (first time hitting this from a regular clipper> spin (rather than zooming))
 Ghost> Spinning Osis on flip and Ghost> Spinning Clipper on strong, also Ghost BSOS
 Spinning Xbd Rake BSOS several times
 And I hit Kevin's challenge... Spike Hammer> Pixie Blender!!! Couldn't seal it but it was one of those where you're just too stupid to catch the bag even when it's right in front of you :P

Wednesday Workshops are a blast and we'll be holding them every wednesday from now on. I LOVE playing footbag, but I also LOVE teaching it to new players or improving noobs :)
