Hey!

I liked Anssis thought to make a new blog. So here it is - my new blog! Why a new one? Just cause new stuff is always fun

I was scrolling through my old blog(http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.ph ... lit=Kljopa) the other night...It was a fun read! I guess my english improved, I grew up)), well and lots of things changed. But not the love for this art.
Decided I make this blog so I can once again in the future scroll it through and smile.

I will be mainly posting videos with stuff I'm hype about - footbag combos, b-bag tricks and breaking.

By the way. My name is Aleksei Zhikin, I live in Tallinn/Estonia. I'm 25 and I have been playing footbag since 2006

Footbag

I thought of that freeze up there a few days ago and this weekend I worked on the transitions to and out of it. I got that work process on tape, also filmed some fun footbag combos and an elbow freeze, that didn't feature in bmom before.
I've hit pdx torque> far symp rev whirl> spinning symp rev whirl BS today. I hit a clean one on strongside, the one on video is theish in the end.

Here's the link to this stuff - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9fpsJ1k ... e=youtu.be

Breakin
I was at the BOE break dance event this year. It was in December, I'have been practising dancing here and there. But after this event I made a decision that I try to dance at least 20-40 minutes everyday(sometimes 6 days a week :p)! It feels awesome, I see the progress. Mainly I'm learning the basics of breaking - toprock. As there is huge potential in mixing footbag with freezes and powermoves the same goes for mixing toprock with footbag tricks motion like moves.

Here's a video my friend Kiril shoot while we were jamming to Spanky Willsons track, so we were circling through all the track. I was really happy with my first set, as I caught a piece of the freestyle state of mind.

Yo, thanks bro! I'm pretty sure that should happen!

Hours were passing by, it's evening and I'm in the studio again. Played some footbag, hit something cool I forgot what exactly)) Then I danced for quite a bit, had this feeling of a good toprock session so I set my phone filming. I'm very happy how my dance is progressing. I like last one best, except the end, you should watch it to the end and have a laugh

Also a small hack combo there, with a new trick ( for myself that is) though I haven't seen a reverse swirling heelberger before, sometimes I also do a pick up kind dex there too. This move works perfectly fine as preparation to jump in hollow back freeze. I made it up by accident yesterday, really happy with it! I also dig that high pdx eggbeater

My body is quite sore from all the continuous every day training that started before new year. I have a really cool idea of a b2b b-bag move, want to film it for January bmom, but my flipside hand isn't as promosing as I expected.

I didn't plan to train today - even left my stuff at home for safety)) , but I did. Though It was a small popping session with two guys in the studio, was going to meet them for a chat turned out into a small session, dinner and another small session.

I finally brought a special cap that is made for headspins to the studio, bought it years ago..Finally it serves its purpose. Filmed two prototypes of how could head moves look like, it will definitely take quite a while for the second move to become easy and fast. But I'm happy with the first results.

Footbag wise I have been drilling usual stuff and worked on my muted spins, have to work on my technique I keep noticing that I sometimes have bad foot placement on spins where my heel touches the ground.

Going to see how symp whirling set goes for me - thanks to Ken. It looks dope, also I'm sure the leg motion during that dex will make a sick toprock move. I'm exited about footbagy toprock style, it will be so fresh

Sweet footbag session today, I feel if I play better without socks, the feeling of the bag is better.

Filmed two nice strings. The second one I did almost right after the first one, I was exited with the first and had this urge to hit something big, well it's not that huge but awesome! And I got it first try. I'm not actually sure what I wanted to hit after the last DLO, either a toe blender or quantum?

Didn't try the whirling sets though.

Thanks man!

Had a couple of sessions since the last post, actually I played everyday including today :D . These days have been productive, had nice strings, upgraded a few bbag moves and have 2 new combos. It's crazy. I have a new thread the needle combination too btw!

Here's something I filmed today:

Neo ss muted clipper>blender>zooming pincher> go down

And I go for side chair freeze > small transition to sit down position. Looks dope, the freeze hits the music, even though it isn't exactly planned, I was just trying to get it. But, that's how it could actually look in a real string, time the freeze to a specific music moment. When I did flipside, I did a small jump before doing knee drop, but the angle I landed my knee drop was bad. I need to do like 1000 more knee drops)) till they are always right

You're doing some of my favorite stuff in footbag right now. So creative. I actually tried some of your squeeze drop stuff the other day, and its hard as hell, especially to make it fluid. Thanks for all the inspiration.

Thanks Ken! I'm happy to hear that!

the squeeze drop is kinda tricky though it looks easy. I drilled the drop itself without the bag for quite some time, the name of the breakdance move is "knee drop". I like squeeze drop :)

Had a nice session today, definitely taking a day of tomorrow. Hit a new drill dyno>rev up>ss btfly>rpt, it wasn't very hard to land, the last rev up is kinda ugly but the seal of the drill is sweet.
Dyno>symple swirl>rev up>ss btflu>rpt was much harder and took me some time to hit it, watching it now I think it looks better without symple swirl. Somehow I didn't import the videos to the editing program in 720p so this one is not hd, quite a difference i'd say. At one point when drilling rev up>ss rev swirling toe I remembered Nick writing about hitting smear out of blink, smear feels great after blink.

Also shot a bbag move upgrade i thought of yesterday, it was the very end of the session, i look lazzy ))) . I forgot to put the phone camera off and it filmed more, and I put a small freeze drill in the video too. I'm happy I stuck to the footbag rule of bothsideness with my freezes. Still my flipside is weaker but it's getting there.

A day off was needed, felt refreshed yesterday. Had a nice session, a bboy from my team (Crossing Streams http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqdM1XO1qbI you can see me there from 6 to 7 minute ) came to train with us. I had a small chat with him about headspins, he helped me figure out the right technique for spinning, I made some progress. He tried to do some spins with the bag in pincher, he did like 6-7 rounds first try.. So yeah, expect to see that from me in the future. Also there will a variation with the bag between two sneakers - closed legs, it will more like 1 - 1.5 slow rounds to a freeze.

Had a solo session today, no one could make it. I came so close to hitting one of my dream drills ripstein>ripwalk>rpt, I messed up the last ripwalk a couple of time. Should get it next week.

I hit a new combo ripstein>ss btfly>step clipper>whirling swirl>rev up> rev swirling ss toe> string . Initially i planned to do swirling monster after the blink, I came close on flipside, bit harder to get balance for rev up>blink after whirling swirl. These are the kind of combos I want to be consistant at. I even had my phone filming that string, but it fell and filmed nothing but darkness )))

Also osis>zooming whirl>blender>zooming rev whirl>dyno>rev walkover>neo guay looks and feels quite sexy. I keep forgetting to try zooming blink, should look sick as well.

I should start drilling whirr, it would fit in my trick selection perfectly, same for whirling set.

Training tomorrow again

I've actually made a small video from today session - here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE3tSqya ... e=youtu.be

I forgot to mention I had some good attempts on flurry>paradon swirl.. Seperately I'm ok with flurry, have to drill it though. Paradon swirl is easy for me, i've been doing it for ages, for some reason I rarely do it though.

Also rev swirling blender bs on video, can't tell exactly if the first one is clean, second has better angle, seems clean.

Have'nt had much sessions since last post, i'm sick at the moment =/. But at least I'm certain I will quit smoking tobacco, it's my weakness. I think I got rid of it once and forever. It just doesn't fit with the goals I have.

I posted a few videos - Klp_Январь with loads of b-bag moves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITB3UFF3Gc0

And while being sick I put this video together. Basically I just like to montage footage and I like the track "Belleruche - Fuzz Face" . Not much new clips there

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qE0E_KQWzzA

Maybe I will have a session on weekend.

You've shown how having clear goals will help the goal setter say no to all things that will not be beneficial to the accomplishment of the clear set goals.

It was a moment of realization.

Still no shred since last post. I will probably play on Wednesday. The weather in Estonia got better, just 2 weeks ago we had -15 up to -20... Not it's +1 - +5. Feels warm))) Also I've received a brand new pair of Quantum 02 shoes. Which I will wear at home and practice sit down style and other strange bbag tricks.

I have a small video. 2 toprock sets I did at home the other day. Notice the whirling move at 0.10 and again at 0.53.

Ковёр stands for rug, I have this small rug in my room at my parents house. It's pretty neat to toprock on!

Over a fortnight since my last post. Made me remember that unusual word though

I played some footbag, but mostly I have been up to dancing. So I don't have any footbag footage, but check out this video, looks like I made some progress. Feels like that. I filmed it today

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOWsATZDHCQ

I rarely smoked, like a very few times, soo doing good on that one.

Guess posting here not as often as I first thought I would!

I'm still not playing that much footbag, a few sessions here and there.

But Yo! Check it out I recorded a track - it's rap and it's in english so it's understandable. I had this wish to make a track for a long time now, and it finally happened with the help of a friend of mine.
