Great work hitting that Far Legover on flipside. Your game seems to really be climbing the ladder. Keep truckin.

PS. Keep me updated on UMD, dude. I'm excited to possibly be shredding with you and teaching you.

So at this point there's no point in telling you all what I drilled so maybe I'll just do highlights from now on as well as the main themes of my drilling.

Today I drilled:
 flipside clipper
 integrating flipside clipper into strings
 toe stalls ( best was only 28 argh!)
 legovers

Today I hit:
 clipper (flip) > far legover (flip/strong?) > clipper (strong) > near pickup (strong) > drop on a strong clipper due to lack of focus. Damnit.
 legover > op legover > clipper > near pickup
 clipper (flip) > far legover (strong) > clipper (strong) > far legover (flip)
 clipper ss x12 (strong)

Short practice today because I'm visiting my parents and have a big report to do.

Pretty much just went over all of my basics today to stay sharp.

Finally, the unveiling of the latest Footbag:

(The background kind of changes the hue, but that's supposed to be gray and blue)

Psyched!

Edit: better picture:

13 February 2016

Drilled all of my clippers and basic dexes today.

Highlights:

- 14x ss clipper on strong side.
- clipper > far legover > op clipper > far legover > toe stall > clipper > near pick up > drop on flipside clipper. (Toe stall was disappointing but it kept me alive for a decently long string compared to what I'm used to.)
- pretty sure I hit an osis. Still not sure if that stands for anything.
- getting better at hitting clipper > op clipper.
- hit my first clipper > ss clipper on flipside!

14 February 2016

Highlights:
-hit my first far butterfly! Is this also called infinity?
-I hit a pixie legover whaaaaaaaaat?! What is this? No seriously is there a name for this I feel like I'm calling it the wrong thing. It was beautiful. I got lucky and it must have been good form because it felt easy.
-ss clipper on flipside is getting easier! Dropped on the fourth one! New PR!

Props on PLO (that's what people call Pixie Legover). Infinity is a Far Butterfly, a Butterfly from opposite side Clipper. If you do them back to back, the bag draws an infinity sign, hence the name. :)
I hate bad form and I'm a hypocrite.

Is it only called infinity if you do it b2b and make the sign? I'm not sure

Thanks all for the help with the trick names. There's so much to learn!

Pretty rough practice today (I blame PF Changs  ). Also pretty upset over the grad school situation. First two I've heard back from have been wait lists... Fuck.

Anyway a few bright spots:

- I hit Far Legovers BSOS.
- cardio is definitely getting better.
- made contact on my sixth ss clipper on flipside.

Warm weather coming this weekend so I'll be at the park probably! Can't wait!

Keep your head up....you only need to get into one of them. From your earlier post, it looked like you had applied to at least 5 schools? Any specific area of interest as far as a research focus yet?

Thanks. I applied to 7 programs, my area of interest is astronomy/planetary science.

17 February 2016

Highlights:

- 18x ss clipper on strong side
- controlled an OSIS enough to make a string out of it
- hit my first near mirage
- sorta hit dada curve from a clipper set when I was just messing around at the end

Didn't go to the park today because the girlfriend said it was too cold and she didn't want to come along ha. so I ended up just shredding in her garage.

Highlights:

- I can hit OSIS on strong side more easily now
- I footed but didn't quite hit a whirl (or is it swirl I forget). The one where you go ATW except with a clipper? Front to back. That one. So close to hitting it. It seemed impossible a few days ago ha.
- hit quite a few near mirages and even incorporated then into strings.

Needs work (meh) :

- flipside clipper
- all of my flipside
- all of my fundamentals
- controlling my damn sets. Ugh.

Per Nick's advice I will be pretty much doing all flipside (except for using strong side as a comparison to get my form right) for the foreseeable future, starting Sunday. I'm adding fundamentals to that too I really need to work hard on those toe stalls and sets in general. (I'll still probably use strong side at the end of my practice when I just mess around but I won't really drill it)

Edit: also put a clip on Instagram for #FootbagFriday

Nice one! Seems you've made a bit of a jump in level lately. Pays off training regularly.

Definitely! Thank you. Still behind on flipside though so I'll be hard core focusing on the basics for about a month, but it'll pay dividends later I'm sure.

Fundamentals and flipside for the foreseeable future. Let's go.

Today I drilled:

- toe delays. A lot of them. Really trying to keep my legs straight in line with my hips and ankles.
- circled a bottle to improve my dexes
- worked on doing a toe set to my hand to train myself to get the bag to go more precisely where I want it to go. Also paid attention to form. This drill works really well. This will dramatically change my game, I can already tell.
- flipside clipper to a hand catch for form and control.
- ss clipper on flipside. New best: drop on 8th contact.

Workout:

- kept with the squats and calve raises to improve my shredding muscles.
- starting using the resistance band again to try to improve leg abduction (pretty sure that's the right word) and ankle crank.
- footwork drills commonly used for soccer/football. Not sure to call them.

Also:

-Hit a few reverse swirls when just playing around. It's so friggin cool that these seemed mind boggingly impossible a mere week ago and now I can hit like 10 of them.

Challenge for anyone reading this:

Can you hit a reverse swirl but after the swirl dex go into a near pickup? Not sure what this move would be called but I'd like to see it! Edit: or a reverse swirl near butterfly.

With the pickup is called revup, great fun trick. Into butterfly I'm not so sure about. Nick can probably do them, Jay Boychuk has done a lot of crazy rev swirl based tricks.
