Yeah, Im in a master's Program. I'll have my M.S. in 4 months, graduating in 2 months tho!

Maybe my BAP nickname will be the "master. . ."

Tonight I had an EPIC 4 seconds of shred. I mean, its not much compared to 10 minutes of epic Jorden footage, but it is 4 seconds of epic me.

I hit fury>toeblur>atomsmasher>legbeater. The reason it is epic is because I had never ever ever even hit quantum SET out of a fury before but on my FIRST try, I hit that combo. not only did i hit the first two, but I had the speed , balance, and time to throw in two more hard shuffle tricks! i was happy.

Then I hit fury>smoke, that was only my second pixie trick from fury, and that was also on my first try!

I hit pdx whirl>symp whirl>pdx whirl>symp whirl tonight, which was cool.

And thats about it. I tried a furious dlo and got sorta close 1 time, and close 2x to furious drifter but no dice. I aint rushin those moves tho. they will come.

I think ekul may be on that list as well. Anyways, props on hitting atomic whirl all over the place -- that trick is solid. Oh, and the fs atomic drifter; I've yet to hit the non-symp version. Hope to play with you again before too long.

Thanks mah, ekul, and ppta for reading my blog. Im happy now. Well, tonight i had a really long footbag session (solo), 2.5 hrs. After all of that time, I really didnt feel that I hit too much. it was a lot of trying combos that didnt happen.Anywah, right near the end, I hit a few cool things, which i'll post below:

javascript:emoticon('') matador>symp whirl (first time, altho i was really trying for symp whirling swirl)

 matador>mobius (first ANYTHING besides butterfly to mobius! I mean not any other 3s or 4s)

Lastly, I was trying a hard move from ps whirl but i was having trouble. I took a short break,m drank half of my water bottle, and then just talked to myself for about 2 minutes. I said things like, 'you just have to move faster . . . you need to push yourself harder you can hit it, you just have to make yourself try harder." Anyway, i picked up the bag again and after about 4 tries, I ended up hitting the sweet new combo I was attempting!

CRAZY SESSION

Post by Senor Grommet » 20 Mar 2005 17:33

I had two really fun sessions today; the first was pretty short, about 45 minutes, and the second was about 80 minutes. I hit a lot of new moves and combos, which was cool. Ive been playing a lot recently to prepare for this weekend's epic shred/movie shoot in Los Angeles. Im quite excited to go see my friends again and to show off my skills.

While practicing strong witchdoctor today, i got the funny idea to try flip gary coleman. The two moves are set from the same toe. To make a long story short, I got very close to it for about 5 minutes, and then i hit it three different times. Those were my first 3 flip gary coleman's. That was in my morning session. Also in the morning session, I schooled quantum sets a bit, not really schooled but re-acquainted myself with them. To make short story shorter, I hit toe blur>toe blur>toe blur>toe blur>toe blur>toe blur>toe blur. That is 7 toe blurs, which beats my previous record of 6, as well as Ted's record of 6  Then i started to try toe blizzards, which are much harder. I was able to hit those back to back, so I stopped trying those. Then I tried flip boudler beater (quantum op egg) and got close, but didn't hit it. I also hit flipside fury to a small run. Thats nice.

This afternoon, I went out to school some new 5 to 5 links. I managed to hit mobius>ps whirl, which was monumental because it was the first 5 add move i've ever hit from a mobius, and actually only the second move greater than 4 adds (the other being barfly). i hit mobius>ps whirl 8O

I had fog>jonny quest off my foot. If I practice that a few minutes more it will be mine. I hit fog>witchdoctor, which was nice. Dat requested that i attempt blurriest>blur. I hit it, but i only tried it on 1 side weirdly. Ill try on the other side next session i guess. I DID hit blurriest>ripwalk both sides tho. Also, while trying atomic whirl.bedwetter, which i was unable to manage in about 4 minutes, i got the idea to try the moves reversed, bedwetter>atomic whirl. I hit it first try!!!! It is a new 5>5 link for me :D

Last paragraph. This is where it gets good. In my afternoon session, I was also able to manage stepping whirling swirl, which Dat said I could prolly hit if I'd hit whirring swirl. I didnt think so, but i hit it today after about 10-12 attempts. Then I hit blurry whirling swirl 8O  8) ! After that i was pumped so I called out Jackbag to watch me hit it again, but i couldn't, ever after about 15 attempts or so. So i let her go back in and i practiced pdx torques on one side just for fun before i would go in. Well, i got the dumb idea to try flip so i set the bag and then stopped mid-move . . . Ill try blurry torque instead. Well, although Id never hit the move before on either side, I hit it 3 times in a row (not consecutively) on what I consider to be my "flip" blurry torque side! What a frikkin' crazy session!!!!!!

DAMN GROM!! You got so damn good!!! I just decided to start really reading again, and I had never looked at your blog, so I decided since you were close to us here in Vegas I'd take a peak, and MAN! I read the first couple pages and the last couple pages, and have to give HUGE props for all the fearless links. I hope you get this before you leave for Cali, I was supposed to go but got no time, cause you should hella STOP HERE on your way back home. Free place to stay, more good shred, and we could all use your assistance. And I have a feeling we might get to play with a Mirken bag...haven't had that pleasure in a long while.

Anyway, major props again on all the fearless progress, and I hope you can make the stop here in Vegas sometime, even if not after the filming. Keep up the good work!
