I'm thinking Hobart is looking quite on the cards

airfares from Syd are only $71 each way, which is probably doable

there were some big concerts I wanted to go to, but now I just...won't. Or they've gone further down the prioties list

And I was also thinking....if you go to other people's events, if you put on an event, they're more likely to come to yours.

I played some footbag yesterday, at this Park Live thing for Australia day...it was really hot, and I was sweating it up very quickly.....I hit some reasonably long runs..and a few people were impressed, but not really many
there were jugglers and unicyclists and stuff, but I didn't end up talking to them, I sorta played near them for a while, then went off to watch some of the skate comp...but it was too hot, and I got bored so I just went home.

Going to Bega for a few days, should get some footbag in.

so I've been playing A LOT lately

I'm not gonna record how long I've played for, cos I never really take any notice in the first place....I usually take a bottle of water, then play til the bottle is empty.

Anyway

main achievement for the weekend is drifter bsos

I've finally worked on drifter enough that I can hit it (legit) most of the time, so that's good

hit a perfect phoenix in front of my whole family, that was pretty cool.

been drilling basics a little....been aiming at 50 clippers.....got 47 the other day, and today I dropped on the 50th (retard)

was just practising kicks the other day to warm up, got 117 first go...I used to be a machine of consec kicks.

umm...I can't remember what else I've mainly been working on

flip pixies a bit

I think my plo record has moved to 4

was trying pdx dlo today, without success (though I've hit it before)

just trying to build some strength/balance in my left leg...I really noticed the difference today, when on my right I did atw (in)>atw(out)> rpt and then other the other foot, I had nothing. Must work on that.

was also just drilling mirages...had a really low amount of success...was always under 10

as is my osis...which is really not cool...since I have good clippers....I jsut get really bored doing reptetive osii. or something.

that'll do from me...back to Canberra tomorrow.

it's been a good trip down. So good...in fact, that I'm coming back in about a week.

had another kick today....in the middle of the day. It was rather hot

highlights

paradox torque
toe drifter bsos

almosts

pdx drifter

did some good long runs

and did a lot of dropping as well. Overall, it was probably a good, yet hot session. Been working a lot on drifters, should have drifter next time

still trying to build strength in my left leg....my game is really lopsided and that's no good at all

think next session I may give smoke ago...probably if I hit pdx drifter....kinda similar movements.

Chose a song to use for a routine if I do go to Hobart...which is up for debate at the moment....depends how I go for cash after next fortnight.

my girlfriend broke up with me yesterday...that was exciting....

Smoking isn't cool man, it's bad for your health.

Props on the drifter work :D Does my heart good... I'm also trying to build strength into my flipside... doing clipper > far muted pickup rpt and such stuff.

Not cool about the girl man :( Oh well... cest la vie...

so yeah

haven't kicked much lately

my foot has been hurting a bit of late, and that was infuriating me

I decided to try and rest it up and hope for the best

it still kinda hurts. I SHOULD probably go and check it out. But I don't think I could handle any associated costs of getting it fixed if there was to be anything wrong with it

in other news...I put insoles into my shoes. So that will do less damage to my foot.

Today I went to a rugby union training session and ran hard and stuff on my foot....and it feels ok now, so I reckon I will be alright.

I hope so anyway.

ahaha. in my last post I was all like "wah. my girlfriend broke up with me"

last night I hooked up with a different girl :P GO TEAM DAN!

tomorrow....depending on leg-sore-ness, I think I will try and shred hard

but not 6 hours hard like Nic...maybe like...6 minutes of hard shred :P that's more my style

I swear when I was in Melbourne I just couldn't keep up with everyone cos I probably play a max of an hour a day...not even every day...and everyone else is just like FOOTBAG rarrrr. I think this really salted my game.

But anyhow

the results for the aussies are up on ausfootbag

my routine basically said

GOOD MUSIC :D:D:D
good start, but fell apart and kept repeating
dropped it too much

I don't think it actually said I was too one sided....but I really am. Maybe in the routine, I had enough stuff either side to save me

but anyway, I completely agree...I was still pretty happy with how I played, up until the last 30 secs....but hey...next time.

I don't know what I will practice tomorrow

I think I will just try shredding it up. Actually I'm probably going to be really really sore. Damn rugby!....but I'm thinking I'll play some kind of sport.....like an organised one. Maybe........soccer...how original.....or maybe tennis. or something else. I don't know. I probably won't get around to any of it.

ooo. Me and my friend are going to start a zine. I don't know what we're going to call it yet.....cos I suck at titles...it's mainly going to be about music and stuff...but I'm going to do an article on the aussie champs

which got me thinking...that will probably be the only media piece on an "australian titles" event, with international guests.

that is sad.

But anyhow.

this post is long and rambling.

but anyway....shred related

when I've been kicking

I've been practicing

drifters
torques
clippers
whirls
tiltless stuff

hmm actually. Tomorrow I might try to set a high tilting record

maybe 40. That's it. That's the aim.
I should join the bandwagon and race to 100.

oh man...this band Stronghold the other day had t-shirts

and on the bottom it said

"it's on like donkey kong"

they were tough. And rad. I dug it.

Going to Brisbane in March for about 4 days...need to save some $$ and buy my way of going there.

it's o-week next week. Free food...yay!

Good to hear you are practicing Danial :) I didn't think it looked like you were struggleing to keep up at nationals, and an hour a day is a hell of a lot of footbag!

Up untill a month before nationals I had never had a solo session :) I try to have them regularly now like you do, they are great.

Have fun in Brizzy and look after that foot! ;)

oh you should! usually people don't have the nicest things to say about Canberra...but really....

yeah, I have to have solo sessions, as there's no one else to play with

though...this guy at uni is getting into footbag a bit...I'll prboably have a kick with him in the next couple of weeks

Sam came over again last night :D good times

my body is fairly broken after the rugby action last night...but I think kicking is on the cards quite soon...though it looks hot and glary.....my kicking spot really lacks in shade.

hehe, of course I would Sydney too, and ye guess it is more interesting place, but probably I would be spending some time with relatives near Canberra and so. But we'll see :) I need some money, it isn't actually the cheapest place for me to go. How 'bout organizing Worlds in Australia 2008? ;) What an excellet reason to come there. For me Worlds is always the only big trip in a year, like 2007 if I go to Worlds to Portland, it's so expensive that I can't affort another trip like that before next year.

but hey guys WORLDS 2008 IN AUSTRALIA, YEAH!!!!

there was talk of it...but I don't think anybody will go ahead with it.

I didn't end up kicking....because my foot still hurt

it still hurts a bit

BUT...I think I will kick today

in an ultra awesome mood...me and Sam are an "official" couple now :) how exciting.

My body is still fairly sore from the rugby action

it's my housemate's 21st tonight...we're giving him a suprise party...should be fun times....I'll be drunk...for a change :P

I finally played some footbag

my foot felt ok, but after lack of practice, there was a lot of rust on my game. Lots of drops.

Didn't really drill anything in partciular, just hit stuff I felt like hitting. Nothing new came about really.

it wasn't the best of sessions actually, but was good to just be back in the game.

I'm gonna start a footbag club at uni. That should give me some extra people to kick with. That would be nice. I could see lots of four square action going down.

I think the hightlight of the session was whirl bsos...but I've done that before...not too exciting

I played again today

actually had quite a good session

didn't realy drill anything in particular, was mainly focusing on hitting decent sized runs. Though I kept seeming to bail to toe/inside stalls, which was unfavourable for setting any tiltless etc records

but anyhow, I ended up playing for something like an hour and a half, straight...which is way longer than I ever play for.........usually it will be a couple of 20-30 min sessions at a time

but I was completely in the mood for it

hit pixie ss whirl for the first time. Felt pretty good, also hit ducking osis bsos to finish my session...I'd say I would have hit that before....but I don't remember, so we can just say I didn't and it was an even more successful session.

Tomorrow I'm going to go to uni and see what I have to do to start a uni footbag club. I could definitely see it all working out.

ahahah. on tuesday it's valentines day...since me and sam haven't been going out long, we're just going to make cards with <3 on the front....cos we're cool like that. I like how similar our thinkings/sense of humour is. It's awesome.

This band The August Reign from Melbourne is playing on Friday and on myspace they were all like "someone let us stay at their house" and...that being the way I roll...I was like "stay here"

so could well be a good fun night.

awesometown

going to Sydney in a couple weeks, will have to kick with the Sydeny kids, that could be fun. Brisbane a couple of weeks after that

what I'm thinking is...

let the good times roll :D

all I ever wanted was you

soo been busy times

I've set up the uni footbag club

after market day on wednesday I got 14 people signing up to say they were interest, 8 of them paying the $5 to become a member (to become UCU affiliated you need at least 20 paying members, min cost $5) so...good things could happen out of this.

We had a pretty shit spot, over in a back corner, and instead of their being more stalls around the corner, they just kind of ran out

funnily enough I was set up to....

WAIT FOR IT

SOCCCCEEEERRR!!!!

but anyhow

speaking of soccer, I went to the premiere of GOAL! last night

I was really really impressed with this movie. I wasn't expecting a lot out of it, but there were excellent character developments and it wasn't too soppy Disney-esque what could be expected.

I dunno. I liked it, it was good. go and watch. And it was free

(I've been doing work experience with Capital Football, who run soccer in the ACT, so I got a sweet hookup from that.)

but anyway. It was a long day yesterday. And I had my four square court drawn up, but only had one game on it, which was kinda sad...and we abandoned it halfway through cos the beaming sun was becoming the death of us

Also got some people to sign up to do the Walk Against Want (another org I'm volunteering for....I'm the route co-ordinator/on the day volunteer co-ordinator) I need to make a map for that...by tomorrow. Eek. Haven't really started on that.

So I've been insanely busy this week, along with having a very full-on crazyily fast moving relationship with Sam :) it's good though

EWWWW uni goes back next week. What a lack of exictement

going to Bega on the weekend with Sam FUNNNNNNNN

so yeah

back to uni hey

one of the subjects I'm doing this year (I study Sports Management)

is Sports Sponshorship

and we have to do practical work...I'm thinking I'll do mine with footbag...and hey, might even get some sponsorship out of it, that would be pretty awesome

so market day is tomorrow...gotta get myself some more members for the footbag club.....Need 12 more payers and everything will be smooth sailing.

I think tomorrow I might even have a four square tournament...depends on the spot I get on the concourse...but I'm thinking....$2 entry, winner gets a free footbag or something. Make it more for non-members, to encourage membership. I like it.

On my own footbag game, I played yesterday, after taking a break for the weekend...played with my friend Dana who's staying at my house a couple of days...she can hit toe stalls and stuff...mroe practice and she'll have the skills.

Me....the highlight WOULD have been pixie torque...if I had have hit it....I was close though...and that still felt impressive. I don't think I really did anything else that exciting. Worked on my flip pixie a bit...it still sucks balls

I hit paradon>whirl which I'm sure I've hit before, but I was like "paradon>whirl, cool link" and hit it straight away. That was nice

Bega on the weekend was fun. Went with Sam...we went to the cheese factory, the beach, drank passion pop in a building site with my sister then went to the Bega show to watch the demolition derby, in which old shitbox cars try and smash into each other.

So yeah. My life is going pretty well at the moment

also doing volunteer work on the "Walk Against Want" that's pretty alright...and will look sweet on my resume. Also thinking that next year I'm going to do a "music industry" course at CIT...mainly to avoid going directly into the "real world" in competition with everyone else...and also then I can keep living on my minimal amount from Centrelink, without having to work.

Although. I got paid yesterday. I'm pretty low on funds already
ALSO, my friend Kayte is in the process of making a zine, which I am writing some articles for. One is about the aussie titles, fun times. Another is on the Evergreen Terrace/Parkway Drive "boys of summer" tour

anyhow, we made a myspace for it last night

there's already 80+ friends...that's so good

http://www.myspace.com/caniscreamzine

check it out

so everything is sweet. Although I have no money

that doesn't really matter too much. I'm pretty happy with everything else

mmm. hungover

it's nearly 2pm and I've been up since 9:30.

Anyhow

had the first "official" kick of the UCU Footbag Club yesterday

not too many people rocked up, and we just mainly kicked hacky sack styles

but...there were some stalls and stuff coming out, and if they keep at it, they'll get better

this week has been sports-mad

mon- touch
tues- rugby league training
wed- footbag + ultimate frisbee
should be training again tonight but 1) I don't really feel like it 2) I have an event briefing for walk against

urgh...I have uni again soon. That's gay.

I don't really have much else to say
