shredded yesterday at the free bbq at uni bar

it was sweet

lots of people were like 8O and I was hitting some SWEET runs

Josh is starting to get into footbag now as well :) he was hitting around the world and coming close to pixie and mirage

this girl who lives on my friends floor was all wow you're so good at this etc....and then I did a run that phoenix and all this other stuff in it

then we set up a game of four square with me, Josh, Ben and this girl Kate

we needed some chalk, so Josh went to the pool table and was like "can I borrow this for a moment" and thne ran off with it, and we drew up our squares.

We were playing in the carpark, so people would keep driving through our game...we had some really awesome rallies, it was great.

Someone parked in our spot for ages, so we stopped four square-ing and I hit this run that was probably 30-40 contacts, and all these dudes I knew were walking by, fresh from a dodgeball victory and they were just like....wow Dan you're so great, you're my hero

I haven't been kicking a whole lot of lately. Went to Sydney on the weekend. It was alright. Didn't take my lavers or anything, but had some hackyslack action whilst waiting for archenemy...I did some tricks in my other shoes which I found incredibly heavy and do kick in...but by the time the show started I had ducking osis, ducking butterfly, dimwalk and some other stuff dialed.

Will probably kick in a little while.

grrr I wish this Nestle money would hurry up and come. I have all these huge bills and no $$$$$ to pay them :?

I think I will not kick today

I'm felling very sore

I had two kicks yesterday, both of which I felt I was in very very very poor form which made a sad Dan

the night before was very eventful. It included karaoke, four square (me winning, which is quite odd), and walking over 10k's back home

I worked last night, packing shelves at Coles, it was incredibly crap. But hey, a bit of $$$ towards mr electricity bill is always good.

yeah I'm hurting. no good. I think I'll have a kick tomorrow maybe. I wonder when/if ever I will get my bag from Jeremy. I'm getting so tired of my current bag, it really is a POS. no good. I think the fact I have been kicking with good bags recently has made it hard for me to adjust to my bag, which is both bigger and lighter. urgh.

blah blah

had a little kick today, but it was too hot and glary, so I went back inside. Didn't hit anything impressive. More thought about what I can hit at nationals/what song I should use

I had a few ideas but not particularly sure about anything

Sydney FC demo was on Sunday. Boy....it was so damn hot. Getting paid to kick out the front of an a-league match was pretty damn sweet, and they gave us heaps of water...very rockstar.

But unfortunately we missed a majority of the game, I think I probably got to see probably 25 mins of the game, although it was highly entertaining, I sat with my friend Josh in "the Den" which is where all the qld roar fans were sitting, even though they lost, it was pretty funny

but yeah we had to carry some crap mats onto the field, so I got to go on the field and had an access all areas pass, I can't see why we couldn't keep them, it's not like you would ever be able to use them again.

umm Ken and Jeremy seemed to get a pretty good crowd response from their demo, I wasn't paying much attention to the actual runs, more how the crowd was looking....a friend sent me a message and said, hey Jeremy is on tv, so that's pretty cool that footbag got some good tv exposure

we met the Sydney FC mascot, who we may get some sweet hookups to do demos with the Razorbacks, who are a poorly performing basketball team...we should look into the kings, they are winning the comp...hrrrmm.

oh yeah and we got free sandwiches.

But overall it was a pretty good, mainly HOT day. Glad of all the water.

I'l lbe even more glad when I get the $$$$$$

working tonight. More $$ good good

why have we forsaken one antherrrrrrrr

damn. barely been shredding at all

I went to Sydney, planning to go for two days, but ended up working for a whole fucking week

didn't have my lavers or shorts, but I still hit some cool shit sometimes...waiting and bustops and the like

I'm pretty sure I'm still drunk from last night. Fark.

my body hurts. a lot.

I think I'll shred soon. The sun is out. It was pouring yesterday

today I played the worst I have played in a LONG time

not good considering the aussies are on in just over a month. fark.

Hopefully tomorrow I play better.

But anyway, I was playing badly, so I started fucking round with a skipping rope, and found that I actually had some skills at that. We found it in the garage yesterday, and were total n00bs, but today, oh I had all the moves....forwards, backwards...crossovers (back and forwards) doubles. fuck yeah go me. MAde up for my complete lack of footbag skills

went for a roll afterwards, had a reasonable level of skill...jsut wanted to roll around really quickly mainly. My skates still hurt my feet.

Going to shitney again on the weekend

so sick of sitting on the frickin' bus (3 hours). But got a demo on Monday, and might end up working

my first weekend spent back in Canberra in about 2 months began with lots of drama. And then the rest of it was spent...mainly in front of the computer. Fucking lame. And I spent heaps of money which made me sad

I watched 40 year old virgin tonight. Fucken funny stuff

enough of my rambling for the moment
I hope I shred somewhat decently tomorrow

pimp those skipping rope skills brother. No matter about the footbag, everyone has bad days, play tomorrow, you will see yes. Skating is fun.

we did a demo today, in Narellan

TOUGH crowd. They weren't even like this 8O for double around the world...it was more of a yeah, whatevs type response

we had two demos

and on being introduced for the second time it seemed like the crowd though to themselves, great HERE WE FUCKING GO, again.

but anyway, on my own personal game I was pretty happy, I really didn't drop it much, and in the final part of the demo we just did one reasonably big trick each and I managed to hit both of mine, and then we all did a syncronised paradon, which (suprisinlgly) I also hit

also hit some nice runs which is a good sign for nationals

shredded in Martin Place friday to prepare for the demo, and in the last few weeks I've hit a couple of moves that for some reason I've never hit before such as smear bsos, eggbeater, and got a new osis record....of 7. Which is really bad, since my strong osis is REALLY good, yet my weak is REALLY bad...kinda like a lot of my game.

I can't wait til Melbourne.

the rest of the weekend mainly consisted of alcohol, girls, loud music and sleeping in the daytime.

so from now, I go back to Canberra tomorrow

back to Syd on Sunday. Going home for Christmas probably Tues, then catching the train! to QLD....it's gonna be a LONG journey/one big party

byron for new years

no update in a while

been busy

kicked at North Sydney with Dyalan and Guido on Monday evening

I was playing fairly well

hit fairly legover. But the way I hit it is more like a toe same eggbeater, which is kind of weird, but hey...it's a new 3 to put in my runs.

I was hitting some good long runs, which was nice. I hit pdx torque. But followed it up with....toe kick. Yeah, big time

hmmm also hit op toe torque, then tried it from the same toe, and just thought...what the fuck.

I'm in Bega at the moment, til Christmas

then head to Qld on Boxing Day.
Byron for NYE
more QLD
Sydney for a bit
Canberra for 2 days
Melbourne for the aussies

oh. and cos it's not in any of the recent posts. I have a girlfriend. That I'm barely going to see in the next month. oh well. These things happens

I need to plan my shred 30. Soon.

I'm back at home in Bega for Christmas....usually I don't enjoy these adventures....but Grandma and Grandpa are down as well, and I'm just generally enjoying life at the moment :)

but anyway.

been kicking everyday

I have new shorts. They're pretty sweet. Very damn short...show off some awesome white action going down.

I have a fair bit of my run sorted out

my sick 3, not so sure. I have a safety down...but what I was planning on hitting (terrage>paradon>diving osis), i've only hit once..ever...and that's not consistent at all. So, I'll have to change it to something else. Probably something with a torque in it.

Christmas tomorrow

have a good one.

leave for QLD the day after

fun times :)

aussies

Post by Canthraxsoldier » 23 Jan 2006 22:15

so.

last time I posted in this was Christmas

might as well write about the aussies

everyone else had such an awesome time. which makes me wish I could've afforded to stay at the hostel.

but anyway

there were some things that made my trip really shit

not having my own bag
barely having any money
not knowing Melbourne particularly well
losing money at the casino on day 1
missing out on shreds cos I was too lazy/tired
not going out barely at all
playing pretty average
sleeping on a sofa with a bar in the back
having to put up with my friend's girlfriend

good things

meeting some sweet dudes....mainly the NZ guys, I'd met nearly everyone else before....and general hanging out was fun.
hitting occasional good runs
doing my routine to Looks Like yoda by Parkway Drive...that was sweet
3rd in shred battles
barbeques
free souvenir tram

but anyway, I only managed to get 4 shreds in while I was in melbs

first was fed square on the friday, played reasonably well, hit torque bsos for the first time ever. Don't remember much else...nic from NZ said I had a cool style and a lot of people said I'd improved since last year so I was all like :D

titles

didn't really kick a huge amount this day...jsut really warmed up for the events, went in the events, didn't do particularly well. Phil was fucking awesome on the day.
played squash. Hagesy owns at squash. I played ok, I used to play back in the day but hadn't played in ages....and I was well tired. So we walked into the city to go out, but by the time we got there, I was just like.....nup, I've had enough...bedtime

day after...st kilda

had the ausfootbag AGM....it was quite a long meeting, so it was good to shred afterwards....hit my best run of the week on that day...it included rev swirl bsos, whirl bsos, smear bsos and some other cool stuff, was something like 25 contacts of strong tiltless, with guiltless sections

next day I went for a skate, but felt terrible, my neck was really sore....I went to look to see if anyone was shredding, but couldn't see anybody...but apparently there were....I was too sore anyway

day after was back to MSAC couldn't play very long cos everything just started to hurt and had to go meet a friend in the city for a night out, which was right up there at the top of the "shit nights out" list...but I started fairly well...I hit some stuff like dimwalk> rev swirl>diving osis but then I got REALLY sore and was struggling to walk...I wanted to go swim, but it was far too expensive.

So anyway, the last day someone was like "we're gonna all leave early and shred at the airport"...my flight wasn't til 6 so I thought......"fuck that". not realising that, hey, they're probably playing at Fed square...I ended up going to the airport at about 2 jsut to check it out, but just hung out....saw jeremy, hagesy and jesse but they were just leaving.

so anyway, I got back from Melbourne and went to this fairly crap show with my girlfriend....it was pretty well a completely different lineup/starting time/price to what was advertised.

but anyhow....I still don't have a bag. All I have at the moment is a milo bag...at least it's the cricket ball shaped one, so it's round.

I'm going to get a new one when I have some spare $$$$

also thinking I might buy some lotus/ace bags and sell them to people who enquire about footbag...could make a little extra cash and even start a scene here in the ACT. uni goes back next month....towards the end of last year we had so many awesome games of four square, hopefully that will carry on.

I'm going to this festival called Overcranked in Brisbane.......should be fun times. Bought my ticket today. going home for the weekend for a 21st of a guy I haven't seen in quite some time...hopefully that's pretty fun.

well this post is pretty long, I'm pretty sure no one will read it to the end.

Even though I didn't have a great time, there were definitely some good times had, and I look forward to next years champs.

going to see Narnia tonight with Jess....I hope that's good :)

I particularly enjoyed this part
played squash. Hagesy owns at squash.

kicked today

probably for about 40 mins

decided to ditch the milo bag for an OLD school hotsac sand bag....felt I was playing better because of it, still felt that I really need a new bag.

so I was just trying to improve my tiltless game, and my flipside.

was doing a little drill, that due to my bad flipside was incredibly frustrating

it was just atw (in)> atw (out) then pixie over to the other foot and the same thing on the other side...this took me a long time which is kinda worrying

hit phoenix>torque........would've made a good sick 3 if I hit anything other than what I hit (toe stall)........still makes the same amount of adds of my sick 3 in melbourne.

But anyway, I hit some good long runs, longer than I've been hitting lately, so that was good.

going to this australia day celebration tonight (even though it's aus day tomorrow) and (drunk) punk in the park tomorrow...will try and kick a bit at both, hopefully get some people interested. or something. impress them. or just get drunk...
