having trouble with inside stalls on the left

Post by thedudeman » 14 Mar 2010 16:16

i can inside stall on the left, but i can seem to set it correctly and my right knee will bend whenever i start stalling it making it so my leg cant get below my knee, so this makes doing clean inside stalls very hard

I have this problem too.
Try opening your hips in the direction of the stalling leg. Alternating inside stalls, you should feel a lot of hip twisting.

Next session, film yourself if possible. Not nessecarily to post it to youtube, but watch it back yourself, look for the differences in your strong and flip sides. I dont do this often enough myself but i know from the times I have done, it helps.

props on getting it BS and clipper as well. I just wanted to second the part about copying your form from the side that works, and also the part about using video to help you do that. I certainly don't do that enough, but it has helped me address specific form issues in the past.

Insde stall question

Post by <>< » 26 Jul 2011 15:06

When doing an inside stall, should the bag land in the middle of your foot, or more twords the end of your toe?

Are there any ways you all know of for developing ankle flexibility? That's my biggest problem.

developing flexibility in your ankles is something that develops over time, as you play more youll be able to bend it more, and if not it'll be made up for with practice and good form

but gaining flexibility can be done almost anywhere, there are just different levels of flexibility some people can gain
i can bend my arms pretty far back into strange positions but a year ago i couldnt do anything besides stretch my arm across the front of my chest, train your flexibility
look up techniques for gaining ankle flexibility don't just wing it, and do ankle excersises as well in order to prevent getting to loose
everybody can get flexible it just takes different amounts of time
