I just tried these for the first time.
I didn't understand how to do them until Ianek explained to me at Worlds.
I feel as though they are easy to the, though -- is this right? I can't see how I am doing them, and I am certainly spinning and not raking, I think, but it feels difficult to get the dex in before the spin starts... kind of like how it is hard to clean a dada curve...

Any tips on that?

PS: Pete, you should shred in a bowler. Ha. Get it?...

I think they're hard to hit cleanly because the dex is fairly iffy. If you ignore the spin and look at the path of the bag, it goes behind the dexing leg, back behind it , behind the other leg, toe stall with that leg. You can essentially do the same move by doing an out to in atw while turning around the bag 180 degrees (a bit like those ducks where you keep looking at the bag the same time).

I tend to call the dexes in moves like this "faux dexes" because they feel like dexes, but are very artificial (like diving spinning sets, or, obviously, neutron and fairy spinning sets). You can essentially get the footbag to follow the same path around your body, but skip out components.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with Jeremy.

What really helped me get a feel for wauxpin type tricks was to think of them as butterfly reverse swirls, and then pivot at the last second. So I think of the xbdy gyro toe like a rev swirling spinning toe. It made sense to me, hope it helps you.
