Holy shit Paul, fantastic track! Great production value as well, absolutely loved it.

How did you record this?

thanks Nick, that really means a lot coming from you!

as for your question, technically, i didn't record anything in this piece as there were no microphones involved. though i did compose it all from scratch.

for all the melodic, harmony, and bass lines, i played them in as midi regions through my keyboard. for the drums and other percussion, i played them through my padkontrol. each was assigned separately to large sampler instruments with huge sample banks, one sample per pitch and velocity. then it was just a matter of mixing and effecting the audio appropriately.

congratulations on your production company, i definitely want to talk to you about that, ill send you a PM

I wrote a new song, called "start to stop"
http://www.myspace.com/amaddernewtonorgy

I know it's only 2 chords, but I wanted a specific sound and wasn't worried about complexity.

I liked the track once the vocal samples stopped... the filtered drums are cool, and the synth on it is nice as well.

Made a remix of NIN's 'The Frail'. Recorded it live on a friend's computer so only had one shot. No samples were used. It was all built from scratch on my Korg EMX-1.

Same with an ambient song that I made after owning it for 3 or 4 days.

Liking the songs. Do you record separate layers into your computer?

Have 2 short new songs up made on fruity loops. They're not done but I just wanted to put something up. The first one's mellow, the 2nd one's an ode to the bush administration.

to a certain extent. the song "doldrum" has the most effects, "material eyes" has the most layered parts, and "magic pill" was all done as just one recording of both vocals and guitar. "the sound shadows make" is just one main guitar part, my voice, and the solo part. none of it is all that complicated. i didn't even use a pop filter for any of the songs (i actually just bought one), and you couldn't count the number of mistakes i made on two hands.

Good stuff Uros. I don't really like metal myself because most of it is rehashed shit that just gets repetitive real fast. With that said, I liked your band's songs. It reminded me of Children of Bodom with less crazy [read ridiculous, stupid] solos. You kept it interesting. Which instrument do you play in the band?

"The Final Verdict Intro" has a similar feel to "Vincent's Theme" from Final Fantasy 7 mixed with some faux-spanish. Sounds good.

Thanks!
I don't get Cob comment though (except maybe for the vocals) :P

Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.
