More cool pics;
Don't show Bill O'Reilly this one. It's part of the war on Christmas!
(It's actually from the Athens riots).
(not actually a great pic, but looks like it's from starwars, so cool anyway. Protester pointing laser pointer at police).
Set;

There are also two sets of "year in photographs" (and one to come) worth checking out in big picture. Here are my favourites;
(Typical surfing in Australia)
(Chinese police are awesome)

Hey, I love the photos you've found! Some of them are really cool.
What's posted here is mostly a photojournalism while I prefer more artistic, static pictures. Symmetry may sometimes be interesting. Colors and shapes play significant role when I'm looking on a pic... even though I know it's not a real life. But I'm still moved by the war set and impressed by the photos of Obama.
As far as I'm concerned, I've seen the best pics in my life on deviantart.com (where I have an account "kociamama" by the way) and here you have some of my favs:
a classical nice view... but the colors!
conceptual photography: (which I love the most)
(unfortunately cannot get rid of the watermark)
my beloved city of Wrocław
footbag at sunset (maybe you know who's in this pic)
and the last one, actually it's a photomanipulation but...
Hope you enjoy!

Thanks Dorota, those were awesome, and it's great to see somebody else posting photos in this topic I especially like the second one.
You're right that I like photojournalism. I can still definitely appreciate purely artistic photography and a few of my photos in this topic have been, but definitely I view photography as a tool for describing the world and what's going on in it.

Great topic! Photography is really interesting, yet also very hard..
The lack of creativity to come up with artistic photograpy, has lead me to photographing nature life.
However, I don't have a particular genre I really like, I admire the skills of any photographer who's able to take a beautiful picture
A few days ago I ran into some beautiful pictures of awkward creatures
