Jared: VAGRANT STORY IS MY FAVOURITE GAME (tied with MGS series)

Seriously. Anybody with a psx go download (or whatever)!!! I am actually replaying it RIGHT NOW!!!! This game is 10/10 on everything!!!!!!!!! Nobody has ever heard of it before, it's so sad! Try it -- it is amazing AMAZING!!!!! It's not even on the square website @__________@ It is basically a combination of metal gear solid and parasite eve with a better story, better music, more interesting gameplay (CHAIN ATTACKS!!!!!).... I remember waiting for it to come out and watching the trailer over and over again. I don't know if the trailer comes anywhere to doing this game justice.
FOR THE SAKE OF THE WORLD GO PLAY VAGRANT STORY!!!!
IGN gives it 9.6
The characters also have amazingly brilliant costumes!!! You can disassemble weapons and create and forge new ones. When you disassemble a weapon you get all the pieces which you can combine with other disassembled pieces to create your ideal personalized weapon. There are a ton of different weapons you can use! There are about 9 different weapon types (dagger, sword, crossbow, mace, etc) you can use or create and about 10 different 'blades' (piercing, edged or blunt) you can choose from, per weapon type (as well as many different unique weapons per blade type...giving you probably hundreds and hundreds of different weapons you can find and literally LIMITLESS combinations you can create!!). The scoring is really intense and counts every little things (like MGS). The story is very very creative and fantasyesque and medieval. The graphics are the same style as MGS in that there are no CG FMVs, but all cutscenes are in the gameplay graphics, which is really cool. If you've played MGS you know how well it works and how specific and rich every little detail is. You also use a lot of magic and special abilities (you can achieve 4 abilities per weapon type). I'm a huge fan of the battle system -- it is very similar to parasite eve, with the sphere of range and in that respect is also very similar to FF turn-based battles. I could talk about Vagrant Story for FOREVER!!! Seriously....go play this! It was designed and produced by Hironobu Sakaguchi (creator of FF) and Square. Here is a site that gives a bit of a taste of the game: http://www.square-central.com/vs/image.shtml (Oh yeah -- the "cinematography" is also soo amazing -- it is like watching a really amazing movie with SPECTACULAR lighting and set designs!!!! It seem that almost every single rock is unique in this game!

I am also a big Morrowind fan. I am REALLY looking forward to OBLIVION ( http://media.pc.gamespy.com/media/702/7 ... mgs_1.html ) I am not a PC gamer. Morrowind and Dungeon Siege are the only games I have found enjoyable on my computer.

-Vagrant Story
-Morrowind
-Final Fantasy (I've actually only finished 7...Maybe 1, also. I've come close to finishing most up to 9 but you know when you stop playing for, like, a week or so and you just can't just hop right back in?? SUCKY!)
-Brave Fencer Musashiden (really really good!!! -- also Square!)
-She Mue (for Dreamcast, but I have #2 for Xbox -- another super good one I could write lots about! This one is supposed to be, like, an 11-chapter game @_________@ It is very free-roaming!!!)

I also have a Dreamcast but none of the games I actually bought it for (*cough* space channel 5 *cough cough*) like Shen Mue 1 :(

...Kings Quest.......seriously!!

Well right now I'm currently playing through Shadow Hearts: Covenant, which is probably one of the best rpgs of all time (you get to trade GAY porn for miniture dresses that give your DOLL different attack properties).

Some all time favorites are

Chrono Trigger (super greg number 1)
Phantom Brave (tacitcal)
Final Fantasy Tactics (tactical)
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (first star ocean I've ever played, not very far I started playing Shadow Hearts part way through and got hooked on that)
Mario RPG (Super silly fun times!)
FF7 and 8 (I can't stand any of the old FF games I think the fight style is fucking pathetic when you compare to something like chrono trigger)

Er, that's all I can think of for now.

OH

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines

This game is so fucking killer it makes me sick to my bones. Every key pressed is like a big juicy orange to me.

Eh, I find myself sickly addicted to the PC game Diablo 2... Something about that game makes me play it all the time.
Brave Fencer Musashiden -- good game.

As for King Quest I-VI  I've got that stashed away somewhere with the dos games.

Just for the record, Worlds of Warcraft is AMAZING!! Whoa, Blizzard never messes up games, and they made an awesome mmo, soooo addictive, soooo much fun, so simple to understand, its AWESOME! The world is so beautiful and huge, the game is based on quests, that's where you get the most experience, so you dont have that lame hunting lvling blandness that alot of other mmo's have. I've never seen a rpg with so much content, and updated so frequently. Play it now, im on the pvp server called Burning Blade I have an Orc Warrior blacksmith miner he's specializing in one handed axe's and he's got a gray mohawk haha, anyone else getting WoW?

First off I finished Tales of Symphonia and that was really good, only for Gamecube though... also I just got a PS2 so I have lots of RPG's to go through since I didn't have an original PS... I have kingdom hearts and that seems pretty good... my list of rpgs to buy for it is something like this

FF7, FF8, FF10, Chrono Cross, Star Ocean 3, and vagrant story

Kings Quest isn't an RPG Erik, but you're right on it being awesome. Well, except for number 8. Mask of Eternity was sooooo lame.

5 and 6 were the best. :)

oh man, there are too many to list... ff7 is the best game i've ever played hands down. Also Chrono trigger, ff3 (i know, i know, it's 6 but i don't care. it was ff3 during my childhood and will always remain so.), ff9, secret of mana, breath of fire 2, wild arms... memorieeees

There were lots of good RPG's on the sega consoles that never got the credit they deserved. SHINING FORCE II and LANDSTALKER were the shit, and the phantasy star series was good too. I played 3 RPG's on the saturn that ruled, one of them was Dark Savior, and I can't remember the names of the other two. one of them had a layout like shining force except with a better plot and a smaller battle party, and the other was unlike anything i've ever seen. You get to choose to be a leader of one of like 9 kingdoms, and you get a bunch of generals who can recruit armies of all sorts of races, and you control where each general goes all over the world map... i dont know, it's hard to explain. maybe it doesnt even count as an RPG, more like strategy. If someone knows the game I'm talking about please let me know so I can emulate it. gah, i'm such a nerd
