Challenge moresecode before worlds

Post by Iron Clad Ben » 01 Jul 2007 19:35

Hi Everyone,
Cody Rushing has been playing footbag for a while now. He took a break for about 2+ years, but has been playing steadily for the past year. I thought giving him a challenge thread could give him some new links and drills to work on. These days he shreds barefoot, and has spent a lot of time working on barefoot clippers to get them to where they were when he played in shoes.

concepts used often:
-Basics (also does a lot of guays, mirage to inside etc.)
-Osis (tough barefoot, but making progress)
-DLOs (solid both sides, just hit Fog the other day)
-Swirls (ripstein on strong side, flip could use some schooling)
-Drifters (decent, toe occasionally, pdx rarely)
-Whirls (flip needs work)
-Pixie (best set, working on pixie everything, could probably do pixie ducking if he worked on it)
-Stepping (OK, could use some schooling)
-Atomic (pretty good, could use some drills)
-Gyro (usually hits 1 vortex, mobius or whale tail a session)
-Spinning (flip is sketchy though)
-DATWs (ins are more solid than outs)
-Terrages

concepts can hit sometimes
-Quantum set
-Double Downs (pretty one sided)
-Eggbeaters (started doing them when I got into them)
-TATW (in-out)
-Ducking/Diving
-Torques (said he hasn't hit pdx in about a year)
-Advanced Whirls (pdx, symp, PS, whirling swirl, blender all with strong whirl)
-rev whirls / dynos
-Enterrage :D (one side)
-Barrages / double pickups
-Symposium mirages/illusions

rare but hittable occasionally
-sailing set (one side, has hit dominatrix, pixie legbeater, saildown)
-surging set (one side, has hit surge, maybe bigwalk?)
-Barroque (probably one side)
-Flurry (one side)

Standing challenges:
 Smog > Atom RPT (footed several times)
 Drifter x 10
 Terrage x 10
 Magellan > Butterfly > Whale Tail > RPT
 Smear > Toe Drifter > DLO > RPT
 Legbeater > PDX Illusion > Paste > RPT
 Flip Enterrage

The first seven there are ones I gave him. Please give him some more. Mainly links and genuine guiltless drills.

thanks for setting this up, Ben. I need a little prodding to step out of my comfort zone sometimes.

I like the magellan > butterfly > whale tail rpt, as well as legbeater > pdx illusion > paste rpt. I'll work on those next session.

Man up! Cody has decided he wants to get his double downs solid before worlds. I saw him hit a bunch of them last night. Came really close to paradon > pdx mirage > paradon and also dimmiest. Flipside looked really clean, it was just a matter of not rolling off the clipper at the end.

It's easier for him to hit paradon out of PLO than just straight from toe. A few DDD and DOD attempts, close but no cigar. Barfly and scorpions tail were teh suck.

New challenges:
 PLO > Dimmiest BS
 Paradon > PDX Mirage > RPT
 Paradon > DLO > PLO > RPT
 Flip barfly

Oh he also finally hit dimwalk > PDX DLO > RPT which was tight.
