go to google and type in "mini-logo" those are probably the best quality boards you could get for about $30, they have a buying a guide so read it and find what size board you need, truck are probably the most expensive parts on the board independent is a good brand but their trucks tend to be a bit heavier but more durable. go here for a good buying guide PM me if you need any help

Alright, for the bearings, mos def Reds, they're just the undisputed king of affordable bearings. Trucks it really doesn't matter, it's all preference- I prefer the Krux Downlows (lower to the ground, less pop). Wheels, just go for whatever looks coolest. And a blank deck.

Perfect setup.

did this become a skateboarding fourm?

:D

sorry not trying to be mean just havent been on here for a while.

so i had to ask.

EDIT : i didnt really read your question till after i made the above stupid post. so ill help, the ccs blank decks are pertty good for the price, they have a very nice pop. get DESTUCTO trucks every one always says indepentent but for real those things suck, they are more expensive usaly at skate shops an they waigh alot lot. destucto are usaly cheaper an there king pin is shorter an easyer to work with an i have never had one break, they are also exstreamly light. ricta wheels are also the only thing i ever used. all i can say is they last a long time i havent really used any other ones probley becouse every one else used ricta when i started. also if u want some kick ass bearings get boneswiss these things ROLL BABY an they make these really expensive ones that are like grafight or something they cost alot i payed like 65$ for them from a friend i dont know if ccs cares them bc i never heard of them befor. but any way bone swiss make the best bearings you can find.

ps so this is your first skate board? if so maybe try slower bearings to start with so you dont break your neck the first day.

Good cheap bearings are Bones Reds.
Go for Coretech or Darkstar wheels.

Here are some suggestions based on product quality

Deck:
For lightness.....Element (featherlight if you can)
For Control......Alien Workshop or Flip
For durability.....Black Labal, Popwar

Trucks:
For lightness......GrindKing (preferably GK Axels)
For Control.....Thunder(The Jamie Thomas' are sick)
For Duability(and noseslides).......Tensors(i love that removable grind plate)

Wheels.......just Ricta, nothing else can test!

Bearings.....Swiss Bones Abec 7's or 12's (depending on experience.....if you have confidence going VERY fast, then go with the 12's)

EDIT: For wheel size stick to 50's and 52's, anything bigger is crap for tricks and any smaller and they won't go so fast.
Also support your local shop if you can......those guys are broke.

Oh and by the way

habitat skateboards all the way! So nice to shred it up with. I like independent trucks myself, but they are heavier than some. I also prefer spitfire wheels. I ride 52s myself

I like Popwar decks they are sweet!.. Plan-B started back up again, they are pretty nice too. i had the P-Rod one (pic below) which snapped but it was still great.

Right now im riding a blank deck from my local shop.. Its good but the wood is kindof soft and heavy. I think pro models are better personally.... Im done riding blanks. My next deck will probably be another Plan-B but im thinking about getting a flip or popwar deck.

My set-up is a 7.5" wide deck with 50 or 49mm wheels. For trucks i like Venture Lows...

awesome graphic

P.S. I hit Nollie 360 and a Switch kickflip the other day first time.. Working on backside 180 heelflips today. So close...

Hey Wicked, is there as much pressure on skaters to work their switch stance as there is on footbaggers to work their flipside? Does it matter as much? Has your knowledge of footbag had an effect on how you view the issue?

I'm terrified of skateboards. What the hell is there to keep the thing from flying out from under me!?

I dunno about that board.. Looks like something from a toy store :? .. I wouldn't buy it... Personally I never buy complete boards anyway, they are always crap... Those black trucks look like they could be plastic  . Just go to a skate shop and pick everything out individually (deck, trucks, wheels, bearings, etc.)... It may be more expensive but trust me you will thank yourself.

Thats a good thing. Have you ever seen or heard of snakeboards. The pros strap themselves to them. When they fall/bail they get hurt really badly!

I would say yes.. Alot of pros do switch/nollie. its basically the same as flipside in footbag but harder... Well kindof... In skating there is no such thing as "ankle crank" so switch is "physically" the same as regular stance, just weaker. In footbag your weak clipper might not be at quite as sharp of an angle as your strongside making them both pysically different (my weak clipper was never as "flat" as my strongside). In that aspect you may consider flipside in footbag harder than switch in skating unless your ankle crank is the exact same on both sides.

Basically, It does matter..... being ambiedextrous just opens your game up and is more impressive.
Newf wrote:Has your knowledge of footbag had an effect on how you view the issue?
Big time. None of the friends i skate with can really do switch or nollie.. I always beat them at skate with it ..... I think i picked it up faster in direct relation to footbag. There are many similaritys between the two sports.

Your feet??

Seriously though...Thats what makes switch skating really hard.. Moving... There is not much room for error. Everything has to be on point or your skrewed!!
