I was, in fact, thinking of you to negotiate fair compensation for us. Interested?

I just spoke with someone at the agency representing Sony - I didn't quite catch the name of the agency. The woman in charge of the promotional efforts is named Molly but she delegates the calls down to her staff (a good job for temps/interns - my impression is they just dial down the list of contacts and don't really care what kind of response they get). In a lot of outcall situations they just use one fake name (e.g. Nicole) so that any incoming calls about the promotion can be picked up by any of the staff.

We aren't dealing with a single point of contact who has taken ownership of this effort and cares if we show up or not. I approached it as if I was, and this is how it went down:

They asked if I was interested in the free hackysacks or the free tickets. I said: "we have a discounted rate, per player, for products related to footbag."

She said: "what? That you'd pay?"

I said: "let me put this another way. We only offer free demos to nonprofits. Would you like to know more about our discounted rate?"

She said: "Something that we'd pay?"

Me: "Yes."

Her: "No. So you don't want the free hackysacks or movie tickets."

Me: "No. We'll pass. Thank you."

Unless the decision makers on this outreach effort decide it is important to have live footbag at these openings, I wouldn't expect a positive outcome. That being said, I didn't lose anything except five minutes of my time by asking for money, and I fully agree with Max that anyone who they contact should ask for something better than free (probably crappy) hackysacks or free movie tickets.

Also, no offense to the one and only Chocolatey Shatner or any other footbaggers in this movie, but the offer of free tickets simply isn't enough incentive for me.

Contact me via pm if you want to discuss the particulars more - strategies, what I was prepared to ask for, how I came to that number, etc.

What is this movie about? I watched the trailer and i saw nothing about footbag. Everything was about hair cutting. Can someone let me in on the footbagging part of the movie?

I hope this doesn't result in some lame circle kicking in this movie.

There is a minor theme in this movie about footbag (hackie sack) and
in one scene Adam Sanler is walking through an airport and a group
of Lebanese terrorists surround him and start footbaging and
it is really silly.
I seen a trailer on TV. It showed some of this. It looked kind of funny but not real.....At least the part I saw did.

There's also some sort of faux competition/tournament based on Hacky Sack in this film.

I agree that free bags or free tickets are a joke. Players need to be compensated if they're going to do a demo for a big name organization.

judging from the script (that i do have at home), i can only support the statements there. the movie sucks, but it has footbag in it. yeah

It's too bad Adam Sandler didn't make me his agent after Big Daddy. "Billy Madison" would be entering its sixth installment and we would have never gotten shit like Zohan and Spanglish.

Seen some of the commercials with Footbagging in it. Sandler just briefly doing side kicks back to back.

Well....I did the sneek preview for them. They did pay $60 an hour for it. ....The only thing is they only wanted 10 min of footbag. So all I got was a $10 movie ticket. It was fun kicking in front of a packed movie. I LOVED it. First time I had a crowd of people cheer for me while I was playing footbag. But I had a great string of tricks for me. Over a minute without a drop, and no toe bails. :lol

As for the movie. It was the funniest Adam Sandler movie I ever seen. It had alot of talk about Hacky Sack. But only a few parts of kicking. More then I thought would be in the movie. But they never called it footbag only hacky-sack. It starts right off with some freestyle in it. Adam throws down a sick combo. I mean SICK. I also loved what they called cat-sacky.....it was funny stuff. So if you like stupid funny, You will love this movie. I laughed till my jaw hurt.

I saw the sneek preview for this movie last night. I did a demo for the movie theater. I was suprised how much footbag was in the movie. They never called footbag only hacky sack. But there was alot of talk about it. And a few times where they kick in it. Stupid Funny......but funny. Cat-sacky!!!!!!!

Just watched Zohan!!

All modifiers should watch it because it is a funny movie and not because of the three scenes with 'hacky sack' in it.

First hacky scene: Zohan enters a circle on a beach, does 2 clipper stalls (on his flipside I'm sure and in sandels) and then bust a bunch of crazy spiny shit and finishes with an ass grab. -board at the office rip off! He also catches a fish this same way.

Second hacky scene: Zohan and his roommate/ son of the obese older lady he sleeps with, play with a Cat in the livingroom.

Third hacky scene: At the hacky sack comp. a quick flash of a few kicks and he shoots he scores. The game the are playing seems remenisent of that hackysackish game from that movie with jackie chan play with a shuttle-cock and two teams.

So I wanna know if the footbag players (extras) even pushed for showing freestyle in the movie more or were those scene edited out.

-and your not credited in the credits at all. Just a hackysack is a registerd trademark of whamo ink.

Was Adam Sandler just flipping through youtube one afternoon and came across footbag and said hey that fuck'n cool!

Wow...

I like the movie.... just wanted to see more footbag and less sex with grandmas!!

Whatever..... You know on modified I may not be the best, but when I shread anywear outside I am the best and people will always remember me as the best hacker ever! -- even though I suck with computers.

I saw the movie today. I don't really think its going to do much for the sport. The movie is terrible honestly, and stereotypical. In fact, it may have hurt the image of footbag. Example: Disco is in the movie as well but it's not really promoting it, but rather mocking (Yes I know disco is not really sport but still...) Whatever I guess it depends on opinion.

Other opinions? Estimate of total screen time of footbag?
