Arturo Gatti - RIP

Post by Laroche » 13 Jul 2009 09:02

Before anything, I'd like to say that I knew him personally and that I went to school with his nephew. So.

RIP to one of the greats in the boxing world. I've been a huge fan of Thunder Gatti and met up with him after the thrashing de la Hoya gave him a few years ago. Soft spoken but with a big smile, laugh, and heart.

I'll definitely miss him and I hope it doesn't screw up his nephew, who's been following his professional steps as well.

EDIT: To clarify, he was a former welterweight world champion and a legendary boxer. How'd he die, you ask? Strangled to death by his wife with her purse string while he was sleeping...
