Back when I joined modified.....

Post by Slowsis » 15 Sep 2009 19:28

On a whim I just went back and checked my posts from the first few weeks I was on modified. Very embarrassing. Now I know why adults get so frustrated with teenagers.

Just a thought.

heh. i was TWELVE years old when i first started posting here. I remember that you were supposed to be 13 in order to join and felt like a badass for clicking the button saying that i was.

my first post was asking what trick i was hitting. i assumed it was a gyro dada curve, it was actually just a scoopy-ass toe set ss osis. cool!

i dunno...i have always been a firm believer in using as little money as possible for footbaggin, to keep it more pure and towards street shredding. where you just go out downtown (it helps to live in a city or something) hang out and hack with whatever you got, be it crappy shoes, huge baggy jeans, and a pebble to shred with. its all about just shredding on some street corner and waiting for homeless guys who can barely shred at all to come up and hang out and shred and talk and shit.

I gave advice on stepping ducking, and now realize it was advice on how to do it slurry

Yea I was 13 when I started posting, and I said a lot of embarrassing shit back then. Just like when I looked up my LiveJournal that I used to write in, I can hardly force myself to read it out of shame. lol

I was really lame back then.

This thread is nostalgic... It's funny, I remember when a bunch of ya'll joined the forum. When I joined I was fifteen and a completely different person. Modified was always an interesting place to be. I haven't been around as much lately because I've been crazy busy with work but I miss the vibe here.

That kind of sounds like me right now. I need to bite my tongue.

well, the joke is that it still describes me now ;) I am also trying to bite my tongue a bit more.

I've learned that if I bite my tongue for a day or two, one of two things usually happens - 1. someone says what I wanted to say, and they have to deal with the repercussions instead of me, or 2. I decide it didn't really need to be said.

Post subject: Are the footbag forums useless?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm just asking.. I haven't decided yet (though you may have noticed I don't post here anymore really). No flames please. Just discussion.

A lot of times, I feel that much of the conversation is either poor quality, non-footbag related, just plain erroneous, extremely repetitive, or (worst of all) argumentative and destructive due to flame wars.
ha ha, here I am 5 years later with basically the same opinion, but still posting in my stupid footblog.
