Modified's old Admin needs your vote for juggling champnshp

Post by C-Fan » 14 Jan 2012 11:04

Hey all. Remember Brad Kaplan? He was the voice of sanity at modified during the crazy days of modified, defending against trolls and spambots and overall keeping this online community together.

Well, Brad has moved on from footbag, and is now a flair bartender. Think juggling while making you cocktails. He's in the finals of a TGIF contest, and if you could all vote for him once a day, that'd be huge. I know it'd mean a lot to him, and I figure modified owes this man some thanks. So if you have a moment (or better yet, a moment every morning), please go to the following site and vote for him:

Sweet! Something you can vote in without needing to sign up or anything. seriously do this, it's super easy to help him out. He's behind by 1% right now.

That makes a huge difference. I'll try to vote every day. Especially if this thread is bumped at least daily. I'd really like to see videos though. Did I miss that somewhere?

Voted. It's very east to cheat the system, without registrations. The easiest way to do it is in google chrome - just open an incognito window, vote, close the window - repeat. Otherwise if you don't use chrome you'll have to delete your cookies each time I think.

Edit; My bad, does keep working, I must have not closed the window.

I was wrong on my first post. I thought he was only up against others on the same side, but today he bounced to the other side of the bracket. It seems to be all eight against each other. Brad's got 13% and the winner is at 25%. We gotta get voting!

Yeah, that threw me off too. Not sure how it works, but as has been pointed out, voting is free and doesn't require signing up or anything. So let's help him out modified!

So, do we assume the other competitors supporters are cheating and start cheating ourselves, or do we take the moral high road?

Fair question Tony. In the meantime, I've been voting once a day, every day. There's still a lot of time left for us to make up ground, and I think brad deserves that from modified.

Well I've only voted the times when I've looked at this topic + a couple to check that the multiple voting was possible. I was more demonstrating why having non-registered voting is problematic.

If everybody who has voted has only voted once and liked the facebook page it will take ~800 votes from here to get Brad over the line, however I suspect the real number is in the thousands.

So the world champion is determined by random, non-registered internet users who might not even know what it is for what they're voting?

I think we should change Footbag to a voting system like this.

It just says on the page; "Cast your vote each day for your Favorite Bartender below from January 11, 2012 until February 22, 2012 and cheer them on as they gear up for the finals on February 26, 2012."

So presumably the more serious events are on Feb 26, although I'm sure winning fan favourite would be nice too.

Somehow Brad has jumped to 32% and first place since the last time I looked.

Yeah, don't know how that happened, but that's awesome. I'm still voting every day.

Back to 32%

I also appreciate the bumps especially since I am away from my PC at the moment.
