That's funny how everyone completely ignored Brian there.

I did something like this on forums.footbags.net to see how many people we could get on at one time. Broke the record man, yeeeeah

I really hate to burst everyone's bubble, but the solution to this lies in the architecture of this forum. The largest number of views a thread can receive depends on at least two properties of this forums design. One, code may be in place to constrain any thread view count to some maximum value by incrementing this count only when its value is less than some number. Two, thread view count is limited by the data type of the container, or table field, used to hold this count value.

For SQL Server 2000 data types see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/defau ... b_7msw.asp

For MySQL data types see: http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Column_types.html

Take care.

I'm a clicking machine, I just added over 600 views within 3 minutes using the refresh button.

I set Opera to refresh it every second and left it on all day. It it weren't for the two times that the connection got stuck, this would be over 100,000.

It was stuck trying to load the page for 484 minutes last night o.O
