Which sick 3 would you vote for?

Post by Posi-Cole » 07 Jan 2005 10:09

Just trying to post something here to help pass the time between competitions.

Going to run this similar to the "experiment" thread, in which the poster lists two sick 3 combos, and then the next person replies says which one they think is better, then they post a new combo, and so on. It will help pass the time and also could be good to see what opinions people have of combos and maybe help us decide what future combos we should try to throw.

So without further ado ...

Pixie Pickup > Smear > Ducking Clipper

Pixie Legover > Ducking Legover > Dimwalk

I like pixie pickup more than plo, but to follow it up with a smear seems somewhat self defeating in a sick three. I'd vote for the second combo, even though the plo and dimwalk dexes are in the same direction because of the ducking legover, I think thats the best trick on the list, followed by the dimwalk. Even though its a bit one sided, I think its the better combo. Arrgh. I'm not really sure, the other combo uses both pixie sets, even though it seems easier. Yeah, putting the ducking legover in the middle makes it beat the first one.

Psst.. this is where you're supposed to pose a new sick 3 for debate.

I'll just help you out and post one in your honor ...

I like this one best because I think mulitple spinning moves are cool, I especially spinning whirls. I also personally like osis to ducking, it looks good and also feels very nice when executed with good form.
Posi-Cole wrote:

I feel this combo just isn't as big as the first. Although I will say that spinning to stepping is very flowy and stylish, I feel ducking butterfly>spinning clipper doesn't top spinning whirl>spinning osis

Ok here is mine . . .

phoenix>symple dyno>barrage (clean  )

or

janiwalker>gyro clipper>hatchet (diving whirl)

EDIT for hatchet

I'd take Spinning Whirl > Spinning Osis > Ducking Clipper

How about:

stepping legover > pixie butterfly > ripwalk

or

ripwalk > ducking butterfly > double pickup

I'd definitely take ripwalk > ducking butterfly > double pickup. That's a cool combo.

Although it looks like you answered too slowly.

I won't suggest a new one, I'll let the one James's posted above be the new one... Because I don't know what a hatchet is.

I'd like Janiwalker > Gyro Clipper > Diving Whirl

Pheonix looks old nowadays and janiwalker is harder in general. Gyro Clipper is pretty elementry, but diving whirl after it takes care of it.

Symple dyno, on the other hand, is a style trick, but not all that hard, and barrage, well, in my opinion, is a really easy 2 dex trick. SOO...

JANIWALKER > GYRO CLIPPER > DIVING WHIRL thats my choice

Okay, since posi-cole didn't know what a hatchet was, I am going to do a new one:)

janiwalker>gyro clipper>hatchet (diving whirl)

EDIT: I think Chris and I posted at the same time. I choose his last combo, DEFINATELY, pdx mofly > paratoxic > torh-r-rack swirl!!

gyro ducking legover > feral > gyro blender
or
pdx blender > vortex > twirl

I vote for pdx blender > vortex > twirl.. because all those links would look really cool.

How about ...

pixie ducking double legover > alpine blur > pixie eggbeater

for me, it would definitly be barrage>paradon>drifter, since
the first two elements are like some kind of rewind :
from clip >op in[dex]>same in[dex]>op toe[del] into
op out[dex]>same out[dex]>op clip(xbd;del]
But this one would be even more stylee, if we changed
that paradon to a dod, imo, cause with the paradon,
one leg is doing all dexes...but it would be still cooler
than the other combo, which is nice, but fairly common...
but i'd be a happy fool, if i could hit one the mentioned tricks
in either combo :P

what about : symp.mirage>plo>smear
and pixie spinning toe>plo>ducking clipper ?

That combo is impossible, since the double legover ends on toe and
alpine blur would start on clipper. Maybe you meant Assassin instead
of Alpine Blur?

Daryl:
Pixie spinning toe>PLO>ducking clipper. more concepts

What about:

Blur>Dimwalk>Torque

or

Dimwalk>Ripwalk>Ducking Butterfly?

That's some set of combos!

I think I choose Weaving Whirl > Zulu Symple Merkon > Fairy Symple Swirl, simply because all three of those moves sound really sweet, and the linking of them together would be intense.

The 1st combo is sweet too, but loses points because of the simplicity (relative) of dyno.

OK, your first combo is made up of 3 tricks which to my knowledge haven`t been hit. I don`t even understand how the second trick works. And I think that the only trick there that could be hit and mastered is the last one. I bet Vasek or Ricky or Max could hit it. But on the whole, that entire combo is composed of ridiculously hard tricks that haven`t been hit, and they`re all in a row. If I understood your combo, the same foot does all the swirls.

Then your second combo is made up entirely of tricks which HAVE been hit, and all which have been mastered by various people. And pdx eggbeater is in a totally different difficulty class than the other 5 tricks mentioned. Considering how most people strong quantum and strong atomic are with different legs, and peoples strong quantum tends to be their strong legover, it also seems like this combo is all strong side.

I`d be surprised if anybody could hit the first combo listed even if they worked on it for a couple months, whereas I know there are people out there who could hit the second combo within a few tries. It really seems like no contest to me.
