The Gamekeeper

Alright. This is informal. Let's post the results / coverage of our games.

I love 4 square. I want to make a video game for a futuristic four square game. That would be sick. But, for now... post your results to the gamekeeper.

2 games to 21, straight up; no added rules. Tom, Freddy, Tony & myself. Tom won the first. Close game as far as scoring was concerned. He got to game point after surviving several late surges from everyone else. It took several reigns as king to finaly take the win in a good battle for the final point. I won the second game. I somehow managed to keep a decent lead from the others and got to game point. Tom had the next highest score and I got a cheezy win when it fell off his foot on a toe stall. Both games were a lot of fun. I think all of us were defending well for the most part. There were a few plays where kicks that were second nature somehow missed their target and made the game a little frustrating.

Tom executed a perfect body screen on Tony. He recieved the bag and set up within 3 kicks with his back to Tony. The pass peaked around hip level so he did not have to move his upper body at all, instead he dex'ed it with his left leg and the bag dropped just inches from the line. I don't think anyone would have been able to defend that.

I hit an axe kick that was maybe just a little too close for comfort. Tom was in king and Tony kicked it diagonaly with a high arc from square 3. It was passing above Tom and heading to my front right corner. It was a perfect set so I shot my foot straight up hoping to redirect it behind the king. At the same time he jumped into the air for a flying knee/kick and my foot flashed right in front of his face. I think he screamed a whole sentance before he landed

9 square was crazy and awesome. King surrounded on all sides! People spiral in.

Tuan got kicked in his FO-head.

I'm still bitter about that 9 square game. I coulda been a contenda! But I did hit my signature move -- I call it "get a big early lead, get to game point, but ultimately fail". GABELGTGPBUF for short.

Won six games of 2-square yesterday and lost one. Not bad considering I had not played in a few weeks.

Nice. Ashley and I play a lot of 2 square these days and I have been doing well, but when she tries hard she can usually beat me. <3!

1 win and 2 losses against Tom on Thursday. I honestly don't remember winning a game mainly because we hacked with some students. It was great to finally play outside again.

i played a lot of 4-square today, which is rare. i won at least 3 games, and used a lot of fakes. i played with 4 friends (one person rotating in) only one of whom actually plays footbag. definitely a lot of fun. played outside in like 40-45 degree weather.

1-1 at 2-square yesterday. One win against Tony, one loss against Zeke. I had Tony down like 8-0, but he got to game point before I put him away. Zeke had me down like 8-0, but I went on a little bit of a run to at least make him nervous. But I still lost.

Not thrilled about how I played either game or where my head was at. My losses seem as much mental as physical - just taking myself out of games where I'm getting beat.

I felt the same way with the 2-3 losses to Tom yesterday. It was still great shot placement by Tom but I also gave up quite a few points when I just seemed to completely lose focus and kick the bag WAAAAAAY out of bounds or miss easy kicks altogether. I resorted to blatantly making calls on just about every questionable pass out of sheer desperation.

Played three games of foursquare yesterday. Won the first, don't remember many details. I think Reile got to game point as well or within a couple points. I have a hard time defending Reile usually, so I was expecting he'd win if he got to game point first. Anyway, it was good to play a solid game from start to finish & not cough up a lead or take myself out of it.

I jumped into the hack circle after that, but decided to jump back into the game of foursquare already in progress after about 15 minutes. A few people were at around 10-12 points when I jumped back in (playing to 21). I managed to get to 18 points before Tony won, so I was pretty happy with that.

Then I totally sucked in the third game.

I won 1 out of the 4 games of 4-square I played Sunday. Played several games of 2-square with Cudo and Taka. I was trying to help Cudo out on his defense and getting Taka more acquainted with some of the finer points of the game.

I gotta give Cudo credit for his attitude. He was playing against Reile, Zeke, Freddie, Tony, & me, getting beat pretty bad every time, but kept at it. I was impressed with that.
