I dont mean to offend :) All the ugly moves I name are my opinion but most people I have spoken with agree. I remember way back a respected shredder told me shooting sucks and is ugly. Id still be happy to hit a "clean" shoot though.
Some obvious ones are gonna be bad step sets or missed ducks, even the people who tried usually know those though. Another ugly move IMO- fairy set where its more pendulum than atomic style- so ugly :)

I guess they both depend much on the player :)

I'd say any stepping move that is slurred is ugly but I also agree that it's more about the player's style than the trick itself that makes it look "ugly".

Chris Obara hits super clean gyro pickups, its more like a 2 part move to hit extra clean.

- Gyro clipper is ugly to me, no matter who does it. It is so over used and looks like a mistake in all cases. Set > spin quick > wait a decade > clipper. If you are gonna take the time to hit that move, please add a dex and make it a gyro whirl already.

- Drifter done uptime (I am totally guilty of this one).

- Agree on toe ducking - but love toe diving/zulu

- Symp Flurry - while bad ass as a move, I think it looks funny and out of place. It has the same waiting problem that plagues gyro clipper.

I dont think ive seen a symp torque that looked better than a super dexy reg torque. I probably havent seen a symp torque I liked period.

Ill add- this thread isnt all about hate. If you can hit this stuff and make it pretty feel free to speak up or post a link. Most of it has to do with style and not the moves themselves but im not gonna be rude and go and post vids of people doing moves I dont like.

the's are not ugly so much as they make footbag seem less remarkable to untrained eyes

back when i played i never saw a the whirl...i didn't even know it was possible

and man theing the double butterfly is like going through the motions but it seems to happen a lot these days

but what do i know i think blough-chi is deep :D

Stepping Ducking can look reeeaaallllyyy ugly when the set is not high enough.

I knew someone who would hit Dimwalk with a set height below knee. Now that was something.

Honestly i see exceptions for every single move listed. Lon's toe ducking is pretty cool looking. Symp Torques and flurry are just fast and "Big" looking although they may not be super clean its still tough. And i love hitting up-time drifters back to back they feel great.

Only single move i can find abnormally ugly when hit wrong is a damn butterfly.. I mean anything can look bad depending on the the way its hit or maybe the player. But when someone hits a HUGE Butterfly where its like one dex and they really jump for it and land hard and fall crazy off balance and the set afterward is horrible... But then again, Penske did a sick one of those in the hyperlink below at 1:45 so idk =P

IMAO Dragon is by FAAAAAAARRRRrrrr the ugliest move ever in footbag.
Take a picture of a dragon stall, fill the player with black sharpie and observe the silhouette. It's hideous!!!

The more adds the stranger it looks for a non player. Specially when you can't see the bag and the player looks like he's being possessed.

This is the funniest thread I've read so far :)

WRONG! I think Dragon stalls are one of the most stylee 2 adds.. IF they're done correctly. If it's low as hell to the ground and it's in the "secret dragon spot" to keep it from rolling off, then yeah, they look ragged... but if that stall is parallel to the ground... SUCKA! That's a bitchin' trick.

And I think squeeze same pick-up looks insignificant. I used to do a crapload of these, now I've got more tricks to link out with.

Oh and also symple swirl sucks. I know plenty of people who do them and even though they execute clean, I still think they can't touch a standard swirl with a ten foot pole.
